The Llangollen Round - Walk Challenge

The Llangollen Round – Run Challenge is a 2 day, fully guided and supported ‘run’ following the 33 mile circular trail, above the Vale of Llangollen. The route involves 5,303ft of ascent and represents an exhilarating, challenging excursion for those that take it on. The scenery is incredibly varied and spectacular – you’ll take in lofty ridges, rolling hills, swathes of heather moorland and cross a world heritage landmark in addition to a lovely 17th century bridge over the River Dee. It’ll be one to remember!

Day 1: Horseshoe Pass summit to Bwlch Gwernant......17 miles/4000ft of ascent

Day 2: Bwlch Gwernant to Horseshoe Pass summit......16 miles/1,400ft of ascent

WalkRun Clwydian are offering a limited number of spaces for this challenge, and will be providing the following, over the course of the weekend, to make your journey along the Llangollen Round, as safe, stress free and enjoyable as possible:

  • Fully Qualified Guides. Leading you every step of the way, providing medical cover and helping with transportation – you’ll have no worries about getting lost, just relax and enjoy your surroundings and the challenge!
  • Transportation - we'll pick you up at the end of day 1, and return you to your car. For day 2, we'll meet at the start point for day one, and you'll be transported to halfway, and your resumption point.
  • Training assistance – 3 months ahead of the challenge day, you’ll get a guide on the route itself, an overview of the sections, tips for preparation and training along with other useful pieces of information.

This is a chance to take in a truly beautiful route, at a pleasant walking pace that will ensure you have the time to take in all of the wonderful scenery around you. At the same time, 33 miles over 2 days is no picnic, and would represent an exhilarating challenge too! Go on, make your 'big walk' this Summer, the Llangollen Round.
