Beyond 50/50-50km

The Beyond 50/50 -50km is a new event for Beyond Events in 2022.

The event is 50% inland Dorset countryside and 50% along the Jurassic coastline.

But 100% spectacular views, if that be the wide sweeping Dorset landscape or the incredible Jurassic coastal views.

The event will be one large Loop taking in as much as we can squeeze into 50km and Half Marathon

 

Forget virtual this is a visually incredible in person event, the event date has been picked specifically with the hope of having an incredible day of running or walking.

 

And definitely no running around in circles.

 

You can complete the event either running or walking and you have 9 hours to complete the course from the start time of 0830 or 4.5 hours for the Half.

50% of the course will be marked with directional arrows and 50% self-navigation, meaning if there is no where to go wrong keep going straight.

Aid stations will be available every 6/8km.

For those that don’t quite make it pick up waggons will bring you back to the finish to collect your medal.

The CUT off is 9 hours or 1730 or 4.5 hours for the Half

 

The event will take you on routes that are captivating which are not very technical underfoot they are all a mix of Tarmac, Gravel track, pathways or grassland tracks (NOT CUT GRASS) all with stunning beauty at every turn.

You may have to climb a stile and open a gate and close them behind you.

It’s just one mile from the Jurassic coast, and worth coming for more than just the event, below you will find a list of many things to do locally.

The postcode above should be used to get you close to the event, however as with every location the post code covers a wide area, you should use TBC when you are close.

There are signs directing you to the parking.

MANDATORY KIT LIST: 

You must have the following equipment either on your person (Runners)

or in your group (Walkers).

Fully charged phone.

Water and something to drink with.(We are a cup less event company)

Waterproof jacket.

 

SPECIFIC EVENT INFORMATION:

Parking will be open from 0700

Registration will be from 0700 - 0815

Start at 0830 (All routes)

There will be a small safety brief on the start line just before the event begins, if you miss the briefing, you will not be able to compete.

 

REGISTRATION:

Everything you need for the event is collected at registration; nothing will arrive through the post.

 

EACH RUNNER / WALKER WILL RECIEVE:

  • A fantastic finisher medal
  • Entry goodies (Distance specific)
  • Timed results

 

 

AID STATIONS:

The aid stations will be extensively stocked and located approx. every 6/8km, including toilets.

 

FEED STATIONS:

We try to have a varied mixed at the feed stations, these will include: -

  • Energy drink
  • Water
  • Tea and Coffee
  • Sandwiches
  • Bananas
  • Flap jack
  • Crisps
  • Nut bars
  • Chocolate crepes
  • Cake; lots of cake
  • Jellybeans or Jelly babies

 

                 Plus a few other bits and pieces

MORE INFORMATION:

Whether you’re setting yourself a fitness target, raising money for your good cause or just coming to join the other runners and walkers who are running or walking for their own goals, you know you can also run just for fun.

(The event is limited of 300 Runners/Walkers over the distance).

 

AFTER ENTERING:

On entering the event you will receive a booking confirmation email.

If you don’t receive it, please check your Spam/Junk folder.

Further event details will be sent to your registered email address before the event.

Event updates will arrive approx. 2 weeks before an event, but everything you need to know is contained within these event pages.

 

FANCY HELPING AT AN EVENT:

We always welcome volunteers at our events so if you fancy joining the team for the day or even a few hours at registration or with parking, please get in touch. You will be rewarded for your efforts and will be able to choose an event to enter for free, that’s any event and any distance.

You don’t need to help at a running event, if you help at any of our events, running, cycling, triathlons you can enter multiple events for free. (Dependent on time given).

 

ROUTE MARKING:

Although the routes are marked in places with route arrows this is mainly a SELF NAVIGATION event, GPX, GPS and TCX routes will be available that you can follow via a Garmin, Navigation device or your mobile phone.
