BEYOND SOMERSET SPORTIVE (SUNDAY APRIL 10th 2022)

 

SUNDAY EVENT

A relaxed yet stunning tour around the Somerset levels, this fun ride is about taking your time, enjoying the views, and just getting in some early season miles.

Now in its Sixth year and again all routes ride the CHEDDAR GORGE CLIMB.

Strictly limited to 750 riders come join us and the other cyclists to enjoy a nice day in the saddle. #iridebeyond

Starting and finishing at The Bath and West showground all the routes have limited climbs (Apart from the obvious) to keep the ride an interesting mix of flat sections, stunning beauty, and off course the bit you want to ride CHEDDAR GORGE.

There are signs directing you to the parking location when you are close, please follow these signs.

 

The postcode above should be used to get you close to the event, however as with every location the post code covers a wide area, you should use The Bath and West showground, when you are close.

Although the routes are comprehensively marked with route arrows on occasion people move these signs, we suggest downloading the route to a phone or navigation device just in case you need route assistance on the day.

ROUTES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE; WE ARE CONSTANTLY CHECKING THE ROUTES TO IMPROVE YOUR RIDING EXPERIENCE.

 

SPECIFIC EVENT INFORMATION:

Parking will open at 0700

Registration will be from 0730 – 0845

You can start from 0730 - 0900

The START will close at 0900 you will not be able to start after this time.

There will be a small safety brief on the start line just before the event begins, if you miss the briefing, you will not be able to compete.

 

EACH RIDER WILL RECIEVE:

  • A fantastic finisher medal.
  • Entry goodies (Distance specific).
  • Timed results.
  • Safe bag drop.
  • Aid station/s (Route distance will determine how many).
  • First aid in the event centre and throughout the event course.
  • Post-race refreshments (Available to purchase).

 

FEED STATIONS:

We try to have a varied mixed at the feed stations, these will include: -

  • Energy drink
  • Water
  • Bananas
  • Flap jack
  • Crisps
  • Nut bars
  • Chocolate crepes
  • Cake
  • Jellybeans or Jelly babies

 

Plus a few other things that we source as they become available.

Please note we do not supply gels and we cannot guarantee the products do not contain nuts, gluten, or wheat, if you have specific food tolerances you will need to carry your own supplies.

 

FEED STATION LOCATIONS:

Kingsbury Episcopi Community Centre, Shop and Cafe, 46km Long route only

Charlton’s Community Centre, 75km Long route, 51km Medium route.

Wedmore Village Hall 124km Long route, 91km Medium route, 35km Short Route

Whether you’re setting yourself a fitness target, raising money for your good cause or just coming to join the hundreds of other riders who are riding for their own goals, you know you can also ride just for fun. (Is 100 miles fun, it can be !)

(The event is limited of 750 riders over all the distances).

 AFTER ENTERING:

On entering the event you will receive a booking confirmation email.

If you do not receive it, please check your Spam/Junk folder.

Further event details will be sent to your registered email address before the event.

Event updates will arrive approx. 2 weeks before an event, but everything you need to know is contained within these event pages.

Transfers and deferrals close 1 month before the event.

FANCY HELPING AT AN EVENT:

We always welcome volunteers at our events so if you fancy joining the team for the day or even a few hours at registration or with parking, please get in touch. You will be rewarded for your efforts and will be able to choose an event to enter for free, that is any event and any distance.

You do not need to help at a Sportive, if you help at any of our events, running, cycling, triathlons you can enter multiple events for free. (Dependent on time given).
