Are you ready for an action-packed August Bank Holiday weekend with races for all the family? Longburton is a small village in the north of Dorset, near Sherborne. It boasts a great boozer and some farms… and that’s about it! Longburton does have an exquisite history and stunning scenery, so we thought ‘Let’s have a go!’ Therefore we return for the Dorset Invader weekend, including Frolic, half-marathon, 10K and Chaos races.

By White Star Running standards, the 10K and Frolic routes are flat! Yes, FLAT! The Frolic loop is about 4.4 miles and the 10K route heads off towards Lewiston, both taking place on trails around the village of Longburton. The half-marathon… not so much. And in true WSR style, there’s a bit out there called ‘Dick Head’ – that’s the local name for a bloody great hill and we’ve made sure you’ll be climbing it, along with Beer Hackett and Lillington! All three routes include an interesting water feature too…

With the local pub on board and entertainment for Sunday night, there’s something for everyone over the weekend.
