Title: PB
It was a sunny but absolutely freezing morning. Race organiser got us warming up nicely. Charlie, who we were kicking cancer for, arrived and got us under way. As always lots of lovely atmosphere and encouragement especially from the marshalls. With a little extra ' beasting' from my daughter and promise of a delicious sausage in a roll I managed to knock over a minute off my previous 5k time. Go me

Title: Brillyday out
As this was an event which both close to home and not a long distance thought would be good to achieve as not run for about 2.5 years. When I got there very helpful and professional organisers even to help warm everyone up prior running made everyone welcome. Def would recommend and to do again with rural running and to twells of portchester thanks for supporting the run.
Allan
my medal was a bonus as my first one so double pleased

Title: A very worthwhile event
A cold start to a great event for the very worthwhile cause of 'kicking cancer for Charlie'. It was great that Charlie was there to start the race and it really focused the mind on why we were all there to support him. A lovely 5 k route around Portchester Catle and area, taking in stunning coastal and village views on virtually every type of terrain possible. As usual very well organised and supported by Jeff and the team with a nice touch of a hot sausage in a roll at the finish and an awesome medal. Looking forward to the next event with Rural Running which for me is the Hunded Acre half maratahon.

Title: Community spirit at its best
Another fantastic rural running event made especially special as it was for Hazel and her marathon charity. Was so special to have Charlie start the race and amazing to see so many people together and raising money for such a fantastic cause. Thank you Jeff hazel and all envolved with the banger race

Title: My first race
My name is Ashley and I am 6 years old. I missed the great south run which was cancelled. I missed the glow around the castle race because I was sick. I really wanted to run this race. It was very cold on Sunday morning. I really enjoyed the run in road, gravel and especially the mud,  I was really happy that I run a PB time of 29:52. I loved the medal and the hotdog. Thankyou

Title: A very worthy cause

A worthy cause to run for.  The course was at times very muddy, through no fault of the organisers, as it had been particularly wet the previous couple of days.  It was lovely to have the race stared by Charlie, the young lad who inspired the event.  There were a few minor criticisms.  It would have been nice to have had a couple of distance markers, at various points, such as the  half way point to motivate the runners, as we had no clue how far we still had to go.  Also a couple of the runners at the front got to one point along the front and weren't sure which direction they had to go, as there was no marshall at that point to direct them, as they run along the foreshore, and almost took a wrong turning.  But on the positive side of that comment, the marshalls that were present were very motivating, especially to the slower runners.  The sausage in a bun at the end was a lovely touch.  The Banger Medal was lovely, even though there were not enough medals to go around.  For future events it would be more helpful to have a clear finish line, as there wasn't one, so i found myself running towards a group of people stood with medals around there necks at what appeared to be the end of the line, only to discover that I had already finished when i was suddenly handed a medal.    But it was well organised, and a great event.  I wouldn't hesitate to book up for another one of these events at the Castle again, as it was great fun to do
