Description

Returning for 2020 The Bridport Half marathon, 10km & 5km  will start and finish at St Mary's field by the football club on the western edge of Bridport.

Registration is at the football club, as is parking for the majority of cars, overflow parking is in various other car parks around the town, all of which are within 500m of registration and the start.

The route will be open to traffic, however there are plenty of wide pavements, quite roads and cycle-paths to run on also with plenty of marshals around the course , the run is a safe, scenic route around Bridport town.

Half Marathon

Adjusted route for 2020 will see it a flatter run with more of the route through Bridport itself.

More details to follow.

10km (Same route as 2018/2019)

The 10 km route will start in one of the main parks of Bridport, this is to help separate out the runners before heading into the road sections through North Allington and onto the flat of St Swithens and Pymore, after which is a very small hill (the only one) which takes us over Dodham's lane.

The run from here follows wide cycle-paths and is a flat speedy affair, which will take you through one of the fastest run sections in Bridport "Barrack street", a great place to have friends and family cheer you on, as its a glut of coffee shops, also it gives them enough time to walk back to the finish, to watch as you cross the finish line.

The final KM are flat, wide and although not fun at the time, the medal at the end will make you smile.

5km (Same route as 2018/2019)

The 5 km run will start just next to the football club entrance, it will head out towards the lesuire centre and then will follow wide pavements and through parks.

Because we want to encourage as many people to run as possible (Including children) its a nice safe easy two 2.5 km laps, on wide pavements, or through parks (Paths and cycle ways), so super safe. Great for kids and adults that just are not quite ready for the bigger distance.

More info

With lots of places for family and friends to cheer you on we have tried to make the route touch as many parts of the town we could within the distances, the 5 km is mostly through the parks and cycle paths so its a super safe environment, if you new to running or you want to run with children as always 14's and under run for free.

With Aid stations on route, bag drop, coffee and cake for after the event available at the Start as well as pre event Rock taping and massage also available after the event.

A relaxed and welcoming enviroment awaits the runners.
