The Bulford Kiwi is a large depiction of a kiwi, carved in the chalk on Beacon Hill above the military town of Bulford on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire. It was created in 1919 by soldiers of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force who were awaiting repatriation following the end of First World War.
Our run starts on the western edge face towards the Kiwi hill, on the edge of Salisbury plain, near to Bulford camp, this Half, 10 km and 5 km multi terrain trail run will include, track, trail, and a little bit of woodland ,there is only one little climb and thats the KIWI itself (Half and 10km only)
The 5 km run isn't a complicated run, its wide tracks and trails and snakes its way alongside A,B and C Bulford camp ranges, its relitivly flat and there are no real hills to contend with, suitable for any level of runner to accomplish.
The 10 km run follows the tracks , trails with views that are Salisbury plain, we have tried to incorporate as much different terrain as we could, some track, some pathway and woodland running, but like the 5 km its relatively flat (Just one little kiwi hill) and will be an enjoyable run, with no road crossings, no traffic and limited pedestrians, just a great running enviroment.
The half is two laps of the 10 km course.
We love people to challenge themselves, so we welcome you to try, and remember you have all day, we wont leave till the last runner is home so the challenge is in your hands.
With plenty of water and a feed for the 10km / 21km runners what's stopping you.
At the Start/Finish there will be a bag drop, coffee and cake for sale, along with hot food and every finisher will get as always a really super medal.
Parking for the event is next to the start and 200 metres from registration, parking is £2.00 per car (CAR SHARE WHERE POSSIBLE).
