How far is the race?

You decide! The 2.88-mile loop at Hartshill Hayes Country Park (Nuneaton) means your race can be less than 5k or over 30miles! You decide how many laps you're going to do on the day within the 6-hour time limit. If you're looking to cover a marathon distance you'll need to complete 9 laps (+a tiny one) and a half marathon will be 5 laps (14.4 miles!). Beware this is a hilly course, the marathon is over 3000ft of climbing!!

Entry information

No entries on the day

There is an entry limit. Once the event gets down to the last places we'll endeavor to make people aware through social media and emails (join the mailing list here!). Once the event is full a waiting list will be created. Contact info@bigbearevents.net for information on this.

You do have to pay to park (£2.50 at the time of writing). This money goes directly to the country parks, they are great spaces that do need money and this is their main revenue stream. That said, be a hero and car share, save money and the world!

Course description

You can see the conditions of the course from the photos below. In summary, it's hilly! Each lap has over 280ft of up... and down...! It's a great course, mainly through the mature woodland, there is a killer set of steps you get to run down and some stunning views across countryside at the start of each lap. There is a very short section of tarmac (around 20m) followed by some compact trail but the vast majority of the course is woodland trail.
