Navigator Trail Race - Hillingdon Triathletes

The Hillingdon Triathletes Navigator Trail Race event is open to runners, walkers and mountain bikers. You can do them as individuals or as teams, with as many as you like in each team.
The event is run as a normal orienteering event, except it is dark (bring a torch).

ENTRIES IN ADVANCE ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED AS IN RECENT YEARS WE HAVE NOT HAD ENOUGH PRE-ENTRIES TO ENSURE THIS EVENT.
Please also note that whilst on the day entry is possible it carries a £2 per person premium

How it works...
You get to choose between the Long course (14KM) or Short course (10KM)
You will be given a map, with the route and stations marked on it.
There will be a rolling starts with all people trying to follow the same route.
You will also be given a card, which has to be stamped at each of the stations you reach.
The stations are illuminated, so they can be seen from a distance.
The fastest time wins.
This event will finish timing at 21:30
Awards to be announced on the day.

Orienteers (run/walk) have 1hr 30 mins from when they start
Mountain Bikers have 2 hours from when they start

These events are suitable for a complete cross section of people from fast, competitive bikers or runners to people who would like to stroll around the countryside in the pitch dark. They start and finish at a pub, which serves meals, so the evening always ends happily.

What you need:
Proper clothing for the weather.
Running, walking or hiking shoes for a mixed terrain.
A fully charged torch (head torches are great but a hand torch with fully charged batteries at a minimum).
Some cash for a drink afterwards!

Note: In previous years, with the majority of competitors entering on the night, we have been unable to pay for insurance in advance. Competitors must therefore assume they will be competing under their own insurance.
