The National Club Relays Nottingham - It's time to sign up!

Compete against your club mates, other super league teams, other Tri clubs from all over England & some open categories as well!

Lets show them why we are the London Region Club of the Year!

Entries are open for the 2024 Triathlon England Triathlon Relays Championship 

The Club Relays’

Open to ALL members of Hillingdon Triathletes, novice or expert. If you can complete the distances, you are welcome.

*** MINIMUM AGE FOR ENTRY IS 15 YEARS ON 31st DECEMBER 2024 ***

The Club Relays takes place this year on Saturday 24th August 2024 at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham, at the National Water Sports Centre. The race comprises distances of approx. 500m open-water (wetsuit) swim, 15km cycle, 5km run.

Teams are 4 people, and the event runs in relay format: swimmer one swims, tags swimmer two who swims.....until swimmer four tags cyclist one (who was previously swimmer one)...and you keep going until the fourth runner crosses the line. So, you actually get a break between each discipline.

*** IF YOU WANT TO RACE, YOU NEED TO REGISTER THROUGH THIS SYSTEM ***

Entry is £49 per person. Again, this year instead of providing a hoodie the club will subsides your entry fee by £10. So when you log in to your Hillingdon Triathletes account to enter, you will only have to pay £39.A

(Note: non-BTF members will have to pay an additional fee for a race pass, for a day licence to cover insurance). A race pass costs £2 for participants aged 24 and under, and £8 for those aged 25 years and above. 

Depending on numbers, we will be entering junior, ladies, men’s, mixed, vets, super-vets and open (any combination) teams.

But don't worry about that now, all you need to do is enter, and teams will be allocated by this year's relay co-ordinators once we know how many people (and who!) has entered. Hillingdon entries will be organised centrally - you DO NOT need to enter separately with the race organiser. As noted above, your speed isn't important, this event is about fun - if you can do the distances, you are welcome!

Racing takes place in the morning on Saturday 24th August (8.45am approx) and afternoon (1.30pm approx).

Many of the club will be staying over in Nottingham on Saturday (and possibly Friday) night, and camping, which is very close to the event location & cheap

It's a brilliant weekend, don't miss it. There are also local hotels / B&Bs available too.

Racing takes place over two sessions on Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon.

Where possible, the club will enter ‘championship’ teams in as many of the categories as possible (there are Triathlon England medals available in the ladies, men's, Vet 40+, Vet 50+, Juniors and Mixed categories), and in recent years we have managed to win medals in several of those categories. These teams will be selected based on performance, and eligibility. To be eligible for these particular teams, you need to:

a) Be a paid up Hillingdon Triathletes member.
b) Hold a current, valid Triathlon England, Triathlon Scotland or Welsh Triathlon race licence.
c) The race licence must state Hillingdon Triathletes on it.

Any exceptions to these three items, means you are not eligible to be considered for one of the championship teams!

All of that said, the vast majority of our teams entered are in the ‘open’ category – which can be any combination of male / female / age, and you don’t need to hold a BTF/TE/other licence at all – though you will have to pay an extra £2/8 on the day.

Where possible, the open teams will be a combination of experienced and novice athletes, fast and slow – that way you get to race each other!!! Again, we will put all of the teams together nearer to the time once we know who has entered.

To help with communications between members attending this event, there is a dedicated Facebook group, with options of car sharing, places to stay, meeting up in the evening on Friday and Saturday night for meals/drinks.
