Reading Triathlon Training Morning

First triathlon? Or after a few tips to get the most out the experience?

Our “Reading Triathlon Training Morning” on Saturday 7th August, at the Hi5 Swim Centre (the race venue) may be just what you need.

Perhaps you’re nervous about entering, or have already entered and have some questions about logistics, or would like a guided tour of the course?

We have two British Triathlon Level 2 Diploma coaches on hand to show you the ropes. Between them they have first-hand experience of racing the Reading Triathlon, are familiar with the venue and local area, and are experienced and enthusiastic coaches with extensive personal race experience at a range of distances including representing GB at Age Group World Championships. They aim to cover everything you need to know for your first event, including open water swimming skills, nutrition and hydration advice, transition tips and an opportunity to be guided round the swim, bike and run courses.

Participants who attended the last two years' sessions gave really positive feedback and found it a useful experience: “I really enjoyed this event, I picked up some really useful tips. It has helped me sort out some of my worries and questions.”

At a bargain price of £39 for the four-hour coached session (lake swim and refreshments included), this is a great opportunity to put your mind at rest before the event. We can also arrange wetsuit hire for you for only £5 (payable in cash on the day) for the morning – you’ll just need to arrive earlier to get fitted (the lake opens at 7:30am).

The format of the morning is provisionally as follows – but this is flexible and will possibly be adapted according to the needs of the group. We will squeeze refreshments in here and there.
