Triffic Trail

COVID-19 Update – 1/5/2020

Dear Runner,

Regrettably, we are postponing the Triffic Trail which was due to take place on Sunday 21st June. England Athletics recently updated their suspension of all licenced competitions until the 30th June and Government restrictions are likely to still be in place. We have an alternative date of Sunday 27th September but will not open entries for this until it is clear that it can take place.

As a club, a lot of work has already gone into the planning of this event but we believe that this is the correct decision at this stage. We are offering a full refund of the entry fee to anyone that has entered and they should be receiving an email from us shortly with details of this process. However, our nominated charities have seen a significant drop in income and the postponement of the Triffic Trail is only adding to this deficit. Therefore, please consider supporting them in any way you can. Their details can be found below or via our website.

In these challenging times, keep running, take care and stay safe and we will be in touch soon to let you know if we can run this event on 27th September.

Best Wishes

The race takes place entirely within the grounds of Trent Country Park. It is a beautiful location with plenty of great views, woodland walks and fun running. This is an annual event organised by Trent Park Running Club and attracts a full range of runners from the fast elite, first-timers to fun runners. Many competitors return year after year. The course has everything, taking in grass and path, woods and open fields, a few hills and some fast roadway, but all within the park. We have been frequently told that our annual and popular race is well organised with lots of helpful and encouraging marshals and a great goody bag! There is easy access via Piccadilly Line (Cockfosters) and the M25 J24.

A commemorative More Mile technical t-shirt, a goody bag and water will be presented to all finishers. There is a comprehensive prize list, there will be spot prizes, chip timing and the results will be available online only. There is free car parking, toilet facilities, water stations, baggage, changing facilities and we will be reducing our use of Single Use Plastic again this year. Trent Country Park has two cafes and a children's play area. The race has been highly commended by Runners World for the value of the goody bag and the quality of the T-shirt.

Entry is only £15.00 (£17.00 for runners who are not members of a registered running club). Entries may be available on the day subject to the race limit of 650. Entry on the day will cost £20 but we advise you not to leave it until late as the race has reached the limit in the past.

The race starts promptly at 10.30am. All competitors will collect their race numbers and timing chips at the registration desk on the day. Start Fitness / More Mile vouchers to the value of £50, £30 & £20 will be presented to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd finishers in the Senior, Vet and Super Vet categories (Male and Female) and £50 & £30 vouchers to the 1st & 2nd in the Under 20 and 60+ categories. A prize of £100 will be awarded to the first male and female finishers who break the course record.

Our nominated local charities for the event are The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre, Chickenshed and Noah's Ark Children's Hospice. Their websites for a sponsorship form, charity places and further information is www.nightingalesupport.org.ukwww.chickenshed.org.uk and www.noahsarkhospice.org.uk. Any charity money raised goes directly to your chosen charity and is greatly appreciated, or you can start a JustGiving page. You can also donate to them during the check-out process when you enter.

We are also supported by the Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service (WRAS) who are based in Trent Country Park. Their website is www.wras-enfieldwildlife.org.uk

Junior Race

There is a junior version of the race that is approximately 4.5km, for 11 to 16-year-olds. The race starts at 0930am and is fully marshalled and runs the first 2km of the main course before turning back to the start/finish.  A commemorative More Mile technical t-Shirt, a goody bag and water will also be presented to all junior finishers. Entry is only £10. Start Finish / More Mile vouchers for £20 to first Male and Female finisher.
