Rural Running Invitation Runs

These runs are by invitation only and places must be booked in advance.

Places are only available to runners who have an existing place in a rescheduled Rural Running race of 10km. This includes the Knowle Village Spring 10k, the Wickham 10k and the Hundred Acres 10k. Runners who are allocated a wave and subsequently miss the start will be recorded as DNS and thier place in the race, and the rescheduled race will be lost.

The runs will consist of 10 x 1k laps, at Wicor Recreation Ground.

Runs will commence on the evening of Friday 12th June at 5pm. Runs will be started in waves, each wave consiting of 5 runners. Runners will start 2 metres apart and must use social distancing as much as possible, giviing other runners space when overtaking or being overtaken. Due consideration must also be given to members of the public.

Each wave will have 90 mins to complete the 10k course. Runners must avoid turning up at the start in advance of their wave start time, and must leave the finish area as soon as they finish the race and have collected their medal.

No wave will start until unless the previous wave has finished and runners have vacated the area.

Waves are striclty limited to 5 runners so as to comply with current governement guidelines on exercising in groups of 6. No spectators or supporters will be allowed to gather in the start/finish area. This is 'running behind closed doors!'
