Beyond Iceland and Northern lights

BEYOND ICELAND EXPERIENCE

The Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, have become an attraction on 80% of adults bucket lists. Iceland is superbly located for viewing the Northern Lights as well as many other wonderful sights.

The hotel is perfectly situated in a rural area just two hours from Keflavik international airport being so isolated there is little to no light pollution in the winter months, which makes it an ideal location for Star gazing.

ACTIVITIES DURING BEYOND ICELAND EXPERIENCE:

Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).

There are mainly three variables that affect the chances of seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland: solar winds, local weather and the moon. The moon has an inhibitive effect regarding weaker Auroras. There are, however, some stunning Northern Lights under a full moon — especially during a very active solar wind. The main factor that influences the appearance of the Aurora is the sun/sunspots/CME activity and the local weather (i.e. clouds), which entirely determines its visibility

Eyjafjallajökull (Half Day)

Eyjafjallajökull is one of the smaller ice caps of Iceland, north of Skógar and west of Mýrdalsjökull. The ice cap covers the caldera of a volcano with a summit elevation of 1,651 metres. The volcano has erupted relatively frequently since the last glacial period, most recently in 2010.

Blue Lagoon (Half Day)

The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa in southwestern Iceland. The spa is in a lava field near Grindavík on the Reykjanes Peninsula, in a location favourable for geothermal power, and is supplied by water used in the nearby Svartsengi geothermal power station.

Snow activities (Full Day)

Feel the power, excitement, and energy of the amazing sled dogs as they are harnessed to go, during the ride your MUSHER guide will drive the team and share their expert knowledge and passion, Half way through the tour we have a photo break for cuddles with the huskies and a mandatory belly-rub.

Snowmobiling experience the thrill of driving a snowmobile through snowy forests, over frozen lakes and rivers (Driving licence required but full training is given), if you don’t have a driving licence, just sit back and let someone else drive.

Reykjavik (Full day)

Being a bucket list location, at least one day just looking around and relaxing is a must.

It's home to the National and Saga museums, tracing Iceland’s Viking history. The striking concrete Hallgrimskirkja church and rotating Perlan glass dome offer sweeping views of the sea and nearby hills
