Title: New Years Eve 10K 2018

As soon as I turned into Ham Lane, my anticipation was rising, the car park was full and there was a throng of people getting prepared, everything was clearly signed from Race HQ and Baggage drop, there was plenty or race makers making the experience as easy and painless as possible, as I had already been emailed with details of my race number, collection of my number literally took 2 minutes, bag drop and collection was equally as smooth. Another nice touch was my ICE detail being pre-printed on the reverse of my number. I was also impressed that people had been allocated in pens to ensure a safe and swift start for everyone.  

I have ran around Ferry Meadows in training and races many times, however the course was perfect, taking in several different terrains and different areas of the park, the scenery was beautiful not that I really had time to take it in. The course was clearly marked and had many race makers lining the course ensuring everyone went the right way and offering plenty of support, was great to see a large inflatable finish which was something to focus on for the final push of the race.

It was a lovely touch to see the race director round up all the competitors and spectators to give the final runner a huge cheer and some well deserved encouragement, was also nice to see the RD running her into the finish.

The presentation was good with a large amount of people waiting to see the Winners collect their prizes, the spot prizes was a fantastic idea and really gave the presentation a real buzz, so to often its only the winners left to collect the prizes, I also like the fact that a runner could win more than one prize and their efforts were truly rewarded.

This event absolutely lived up to the company's name and was "Sublime", I will definitely be booking more Sublime races, thank you to the whole team.
