A well organised event. A lovely race that is tough and hilly. A nice relaxing environment to register and pick up your number. Overall a very good race put on by Hermes Running, one I would definitely do again.
Title: Tough race, in a beautiful settings, by a small but well organised and friendly team. Oh, and a gorgeous medal!
Great experience. This is a tough race, made harder on the day by the heat. Two big climbs, narrow paths, stairs... Not for the faint hearted, but a rewarding outcome. I would definitely recommend this race.
The event (Half Marathon) was fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed every part of it, from the start line to the finish. The course was more hilly than I expected but not difficult. The course led through all types of terrain, from rugged terrain through woodland trails to some steep slopes. Stunning views along the entire course! There weren't many tarmac paths apart from road crossing which was also great. The route was clearly marked and marshalled. Checkpoint stations were well stocked and volunteers and marshalls along the way were cheerful and friendly. Overall, great organisation and atmosphere. And the medals at the end were absolutely stunning! The only suggestion for the future would be to start marathon 1hr (instead of 30 mins) before half marathon in order to avoid congestion en route. Thank you all for making this event happen:).
Small, friendly and well organised run. Hilly as you'd expect on the North Downs. Tricky finding a parking spot, as the Half starts 30mins after the Marathon, so all spots were taken. Easy check in at the hotel, with use of the hotel toilets, what a treat from the usual chemical offerings. Water is in cups at aid stations, so best to take your own bottle as there is also the facility to refill it with water. Would definitely do this one again.
