Title: 7 Mile Hike with a bit of a jogging and an enjoyable 3mile decent!
Well organised race, really tough climb up the gully, but the last 2 and a bit miles were really fun!
Only negatives where about 25 of us got lost at mile 2, as not well signposted.
And at mile 9 when you went into the field i had no idea which way to go, and had to wait for a walker and his son to ask them, which cost me 30 seconds or so, and it cost my friend 3rd place as he went the wrong way in the field! Nice race medal, drinks bottle, the T Shirt they didnt have any which was a shame, but overall a great race
i completed the 10 mile run and really enjoyed it. The pre race info was good, registration was quick and efficient and event well organised in a stunning setting. route was fantastic, good atmosphere and the two uphills were brilliant criticism - route marking could be improved. At the top of first hill there was confusion over the direction, needs more directional arrows not hazard tape which doesn’t indicate direction. Don’t want to keep stopping to look at a map no point having water station at mile 3, needs to be further into route. One woman was being pulled along by dog- canicross event maybe?
Excellent race with some really tough climbs - the gully was a leg burner at around mile 4 after having already completed a tough climb at mile 1....the only point I would make is the course could he better marked out. I took a wrong turn at the final two stiles which cost me a place! I'll be back next year!
