Title: An early start but a great race!

I last took part in the Maldon triathlon in 2014 and it seemed there had been a drop in the number of participants. This is a real shame as it was a fantastic event. 

The weather was a little dubious (but the sun did show itself eventually!) and the early start was a shock to the system, but the event was well organized and the course is great.

The swim in the estuary was clearly marked and the current adds another dimension that you don't get in a pool or lake.... The scenic bike route was flat and fast ('fast' being a relative term....) and the run was part tarmac and part trail which made it interesting.
