An enjoyable adventurous event
My first half marathon and it was just what I wanted. Thanks
Stunning course matched by excellent organisation.
I can't praise the organisation of this event highly enough - every detail seems to be taken care of from the moment you enter until after you cross the finish line. The warm-up was brilliant and the support from well-wishers around the course was tremendous. I intend to be back next year.
I really enjoyed the course despite the up hill sections! They were tough, but it was very satisfying to reach the top of the Trundle and experience the amazing views, particularly as the weather was perfect.
My only slight criticism would be that only water was available, no snacks or energy drinks, unlike some other events I have done.
I would definitely recommend it to others and may do it again depending on my own personal goals for next year!
My first half. Won't be my last
A fabulous event. Well organised and supported by a highly enthusiastic group of volunteers.
Whilst the course is difficult for beginners, the size of the field, the organisation and ambience will bowl over any newcomer.
A fantastic and challenging half marathon! The scenery was stunning and i will never forget the run up to the Trundle!
A banana would have been welcome after the finish line - but that is only a small thing. Also, what about pace setters?
My time never came up on results. Nothing under my number or surname :(
Lots of Marshals and very well organised .Well done!!!
Perfect course for a negative split half
Challenging but enjoying.
Hilly half marathon
I would like more signs as there were points in the race where I was unsure of the directions
if you want a challenging Half this is the one to do.
sorry but the goody bag could be better, and no consideration for people with allergy's (eg a nut allergy )
Great event in stunning countryside
Excellent race, great value.
You could really do with a controlled crossing point to the car park for pedestrians closer to the finish - currently people cross haphazardly nearer the road, blocking runners and dicing with single track traffic coming in and out!
Top of the trundle, top of the world
Marshals so friendly and supportive - a big thanks to them!
Excellent very well organised event. A challenging course but the rewards of the views and atmosphere make it well worth it. Would highly recommend.
You need parking direction signs to direct participants to the parking area for the college area.
awesome views from the top of the trundle - made the slog up there all worth it!
All the marshals fab - thank you so much to all of them.
Beautiful, v.well supported and organised
The finishers bags were amazing. The marshalls were all amazing and supportive. It was really well organised and I’ll definitely be back next year. Thank you!
Challenging run for all abilities , stunning views !
Absolutely one of my favourite Half Marathons. Stunning scenery and never gets boring. The goodie bag is fab!
Excellent event well organised and fantastic route.
Disappointed with medal. Design could be a bit inspiring.
Excellent event, lovely scenery
Great mainly off road run with lovely set of Marshalls
Really friendly event, stunning scenery, at least you know half of it is downhill as you struggle up The Trundle!
Beautiful route. Worth the hill. Friendly event.
Overall a wonderful experience
Good race, marshalling was a bit poor!
I was running the 10 miler, we got sent the wrong way. The marshals at the roud field loop down centurions way sent the 10 mile runners around the loop even though that wasn't included in the 10 miles race.
Also there were no marshals for the 10 mile race from the top of chalk pit until you got down onto centurions way. This was okay for me as I knew the route, however for new runner this could have been very confusing.
10 mile race ended up being 17.1km!
Goody bags were amazing!
Organisation at the college with the bag drop was really good.
Lovely event, well organised, now have a love hate relationship with the trundle!
Brilliantly organised race with spectacular views and such a worthy cause.
Fantastic atmosphere, beautiful (but challenging route) and great support at the beginning, during and at the end of the event.
Thank you to all the organisers and Marshalls for another fabulous Chi 1/2.
Hard but enjoyable
The only thing I would suggest to change is the use of plastic cups, paper cups can be used as a great alternative and much more environmentally friendly especially if cups are missed during the clean up.
too much mixing of cars and runners near the beginning
