Trail duathlon how it should be...quality organisation, wild location, great community, reasonable cost.
Thanks to all the great marshalls and for all the signage!
Great experience
I took part in Sprint duathlon female category. It was my first duathlon and I was a bit scared I would get lost by reading last year reviews. But it wasn't like that at all. Route was clearly marked in two different colours and if you pay attention it is easy to follow. I usually do running so running route for me was good - hilly but good. Mtb is still new to me so I found the route technical,
especially some downhills. Thank you to organisers and participants for a good atmosphere. Hope to see more ladies taking part next year!
Informal trail run through pretty woods
Thoroughly enjoyed it
Maybe worth stressing it is pretty tough!
3 times in a row now......great race
very similar to the Hurt so i'm surprised more people don't enter.....fantastic event!
Absolutely b##### Brilliant!
By the time got back the food had gone as the cricket club were using the room - although the lady was still there & very kindly got me something from her car. Would have been nice to have a cup of tea too.....maybe though I should have just been quicker - haha!! Brilliant event- lovely run & bike routes - will be back next year - thank you for a great day
Well organised friendly duathlon
Tough but fun course
Way better course marking compared to last year. I love offroad duathlons shame there aren't more events like this. Maybe do 3, 4,or 5 of these as a little series even if it's all at the same venue? Especially now the human race xduathlons aren't running anymore
Loved it
Web site stated 920 but race started at 9 and registration was a bit of a walk, would have been useful to say how far thankyou
Great event. Wonderful trails.
Duathlon definitely favours runners over cyclists. Maybe make the bike leg a bigger portion of the event.
One loo for Gents wasn’t enough.
Other than that, superb
A tough beauty!
Tough but fun course in a small welcoming atmosphere.
Such a fun and accessible event in beautiful surroundings with a good fix of challenge factor!
Proper off road
Tough but fun duathlon
Although there was plenty of signage, I (along with a few other athletes that did the same at the same time) missed a turn on the 10k run, up a steep hill to the right, so ended up running a bit further before turning back. A few of us also did a similar thing for a left turn early on into the bike ride. Perhaps the signage on those two turns might be considered.
Also in the new area (through bracken) on the ride, there were a few tree/sappling trunks still poking up, which can catch pedals and are not easy to see. I also caught my right arm twice (on each lap in the same place) in that section of the ride, on a branch, which caused a significant graze. That could be trimmed back. I realize the nature of the race is one where there is some danger and risk of minor injuries but if one keeps to the track line one shouldn't expect to be stuck by something sharp.
These are only minor issues but I guess you want to know anything where there might be room for improvement.
best wishes,
David
Very well organised and friendly event in beautiful surroundings; challenging trail course.
Brilliantly challenging and beautiful 10k route!
This is the second time I've taken part in the 10k and I absolutely loved it again! The route is brilliant and gives a great variation of running throughout. I will be back for sure!
Very well organised event with a friendly atmosphere
Best technically challenging off road duathlon I have raced . I will be back for more , loved it
Such a friendly event - you gotta like hills though ;-)
So friendly and VERY well organised - thanks for putting on a brilliant event - will definitely be signing up to more of your events this winter
Just a little note : Dog bowls at the refreshment stops would have been a nice addition, love from Herbie
