I had planned on doing either Perivale 5 or Victory 5 today but left it too late for both! So opted for this event instead. So glad I did. Thought it a bit pricey when I entered but when I got my medal I was well pleased, real quality. Even the ribbon was good, one of the best. Did Brighton 10k the other week and the medal was rubbish. And I have to mention the marshals also really good and so friendly.
Have to single out the guy that was on car park duties when I arrived a “Jack of all trades” if ever there was one, even found time to offer encouragement to me whilst coming in the opposite direction to me on the lead bike.
I’ve decided to call time on 10k’s now as I’m beginning to struggle more and more, well ! I am 73; so if today’s race is my last 10k, I couldn’t have picked a better one, that’s for sure.
