TRA Committee Report, 21 July 2018

The TRA Committee met on 21 July 2018 in Slough. A number of items were discussed including reports from committee members on membership (we continue to grow with over 1,000 members), the successful implementation of GDPR, TRA finances, and proposed developments and improvements to the website.

The stand at the Virgin London Marathon Expo had proved to be very successful, with 50 new members signed up at the event and almost the same number over subsequent weeks. It was agreed further investment would be made in TRA branded kit – including the addition of caps. This can all be purchased through the website.

The committee supported a proposal that the pot of funding available to race directors whose events are permitted by the TRA will be increased. So far in 2018, £5,400 has been distributed. Please check out the permits section on the website if this is relevant to you.

The pdf version of Trailrunner is available in the member area of the website, and has been well received. A request was made for articles for future issues. These are welcomed from any member of the TRA as well as from the committee and can be about races you have organised or participated in, or about trail running in general. Please contact Kathy via editor@tra-uk.org if you have an idea.

The TRA AGM will be held on 27 October 2018 in Bishops Stortford. All members are invited to attend and further details will be emailed out in due course.
