Exmouth Openwater Triathlon

Overview

LMEvents are excited to be back in 2023 delivering the British Triathlon Federation accredited Exmouth Open Water Triathlon. Race director, Lizzie Mayne will be organising the Sprint distance race alongside the successful Olympic and Novice swim distance races.  I hope the races will again be enjoyable, challenging, and friendly appealing to both newcomers and seasoned athletes alike. The event can be completed by individuals or as a relay team where each team member completes a single discipline.

Race HQ, start and finish, and transition will be located at the East end of Exmouth beachfront by Orcombe Point on Queens Drive. The swim will start in waves from the beautiful sandy beach and enters the usually calm waters for a fully marshalled, single lap swim.

Competitors will then head out of Exmouth on a undulating, single lap, bike course with a mix of open and closed roads. The flat run leg is an out and back along the seafront promenade towards the marina with amazing views in both directions and great PB potential.

The team event will comprise of 3 members each doing a leg each. Participants will transfer their chip in the transition area. All other details are the same as the individual.

This location is perfect for spectators to line the seafront to get the best views of the whole race.

Bespoke medal for every competitor.

A full race pack will be emailed out the Wednesday prior to the race :)

Rules and Suggestions

Swimmers can wear wetsuits and should be able to swim 375/750/1500 metres using any stroke (bring a bowl to fill with water so you can wash the sand off your feet before the cycle). Cyclists must wear approved helmets and abide by the rules of the road. The route will be marked and marshalled, however route finding is always the competitors responsibility so familiarise yourself with the route and the area beforehand.

A full race pack will be emailed during the week leading up to the event.
