The Trail Outlaws Urban Trail Series (UTS) and Ulimate Trail Series Challenge (UTSC) events are aimed at giving runners of all abilities the chance to have fun or race on local trails. All our races are fully marked and marshalled to help you on your way. There lots of options to choose from in the series from 5K to Half Marathon. You can also enter the entire series to get a discount and a free presentation evening later in the year.
Prizes will be awarded for the winners of each race.

Durham Trail 10M 2024
£28.00 - £30.00Trail Outlaws presents the Durham Trail 10 mile race which is also part of the Urban Trail Series of events.
The Durham Trails 10 offers runners a fabulous opportunity to run some beautiful trails in Durham City and the areas surrounding the city. The 10 mile route starts in Durham City before heading down along the rivers Wear Dale Way, through the fabulous local woods of Shincliffe and Croxdale, running along some trails we guarantee you have never ran before. You will then return to the City via some great trails and finishing with the spectacular climb up to the top of Whinney Hill; where you will be gob smacked by the uninterrupted view of Durham Cathedral from one of the highest vantage points within the city itself.
This is an event not to be missed in the Urban Trail Series.

Penshaw Half Marathon 2024
£30.00 - £32.00Part of the Urban Trails series of races by Trail Outlaws.The Penshaw Half Marathon starts at the foot of Penshaw Hill. The route takes in beautiful trails along the North and South side of the River Wear, with great views along the river and its broad range of wildlife and wildfowl, before the fabulous finish on Penshaw Monument itself.
We are sure you will agree, the finish and the bling with be worth the challenge. This race has everything you would want in a Trail Race.
This race also has great facilities for the whole family. Herrington Country Park has a children's play area, woodland walks and fun trail walks. There is also a great cafe and an ice cream van on the park as well.

As a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) it is a route that Trail Outlaws have worked very hard to bring to the calendar. Starting in the local village of Hawthorn, the route takes you through the Durham Wildlife Trust and National Trust managed woodland of Hawthorn Dene. Then the running of the Bays of Hawthorn Hive and The Blast Beach.

£25.00 - £27.00Fontburn Reservoir is set in a stunning part of Northumberland with an abundance of wildlife and wild flowers. The race is also hosted at a time of year when it gives a great view of the summer plants and the local mycology will also be starting to show. We will be hosting special prizes for people that managed to find clues along side the trail.
This race also has great facilities for the whole family. There is a fun playground and visitor centre for refreshments and ice cream.

Are you nervous about entering a Trail Race. The cut off for this race is approximately 2 hours, nobody will get timed out. The course is fully marked. Trail races are more welcoming and definitely more fun than running on roads!
This race has everything you would want in a Trail Race. Great views set on lovely trails. We describe the route as undulating :)
