Fund Day in the Mud

I ran the 10k on Saturday......I really enjoyed the run........ although my trainers took a battering in the mud!!! My one piece of feedback would have been a little bit more detail in the lead up to the run, in terms of exact venue and maybe some sign posting at the end of 100 Acres Road and the Bere Forest car park, to confirm that we were in the right place. We aren't from the area and located a postcode via facebook. Luckily, we found it OK, but I would recommend this as helpful for next year

Awesome run, we all laughed at each other going through the mud, the marshalls were so cheerful and encouraging and finally the medal, well the medal was THE BEST

Parking was a bit of a nightmare, I arrived 50 mins before the 10K run and there was no parking left, luckily my husband drove me so he went off until the end, I could have missed out on the run as he said he couldn't find any spaces to park anywhere and he ended up going off to the local village

Marshals happy, encouraging and enthusiastic and in the right places. Great day thank you

The only bit of little confusion as a half marathon runner was the crossing of the route left and right at the finish area. Not sure best way of how to overcome. Maybe have sign saying for half marathon 1 loop this way right, second loop this way left? Loved it all and well done everyone. You did the best you could have. Will come again

Muddy, hilly, wet, lots of fun.

Parking was fine having followed the instructions. Our child loved the park while we ran and as my longest ever run, finding parts of the forest I'd never found before was great. Loved it.

My first time and even though it was hilly and muddy, I loved it

The marshals were excellent, the course was great, if a little muddy! Only thing would be that you could provide more toilets and more people helping in and around the car park. Otherwise it was well organised.

Good fun and a challenge if not regular at off road running great to do something different

Would have helped to see a map at the course before the start and to have km markers out so you knew how far you'd got.

Mud glorious mud :)

I don't have a facebook account but I believe due to a very few complaints from runners doing the half marathon next years race is being cancelled. How very sad. .I hope those who complained had family marshalling, somehow I expect NOT. I did the 10k and laughed from start to finish. The marshals were absolutely fantastic, encouraging and positive. My husband and my daughters partner were marshalling and though our race started at 10.40am they had to be there from 08.30am. They enjoyed the role and said with a few exceptions all the runners were smiling. The ones not smiling tended have headphones in and perhaps didn't hear the cheers and possibly race instructions/directions ?? Jeff had to think on his feet due to a medical emergency (hope the runner is ok). The other runners were brilliant everyone encouraging everyone else. Jeff I have to ask where did you find those hills (and yes ladies they were hills not inclines but thanks for trying!)! and all that delightful mud? That must have taken some organising lol. We will be back again next year because we love rural running races. Thanks to Jeff and his team. See you soon. As an add on I love my medal :) Just heard the half marathon is back next year hopefully without the runners who complained....we don't need you.

Very well marshalled with plenty of sign posting. Clear instructions given prior to start. Very friendly atmosphere with the event organiser doing a great job as always.
