Great bike event, even in the rain!
Really enjoy this event; friendly, relaxed, challenging, awesome scenery, no pretentiousness. Keep up the good work, thanks for a great day, see you in 2017
Always love Legs of Steel - best sportive in South East
Registration is better now but giving out the chips with the bike number would eliminate the need for a second queue but small issue. Still love it even in the rain. Liked having all the extra marshals this year.
Great independent sportive for a fantastic cause
Hugely challenging weather-wise this year, we got drenched, but thank goodness it wasn't colder. Route marking was a nightmare as another sportive had very similar colour signage so difficult to pick out in low light. recommend a bigger LoS logo or something and to give examples to riders at set off. Team were quick to respond and post marshals on the suspect turnoff.
Challenging hill Tour
Better weather please!
Go as hard as you like
Good marshalling on most of course although signage a bit hidden on turn off to Martha's section. Would be lovely to have a cuppa at the end as part of the package
Great event - my 6th time and I'll be back
A brilliantly organised event for a worthy cause. I love the chilled out feel of this event, the friendliness of all the organisers and marshals. Plus the stunning scenery (when you can see it).
A very challenging course with plenty of climbs
I am one of Dave's athletes so I was invited to this event. It was my first ride in some time and I enjoyed it. I thought it was well organised but I know there were a lot of people who went the wrong way at one point in the Long ride lap, not sure why? Wish the weather could have been a bit better!
Great fun, in spite of the rain
The organisation at the start was much better than previous years - keeping the bikes from clogging the road for cars, and looping by the cafe.
Safety marshalling on the dangerous bits was good - thanks to everyone who helped
You might need an extra sign on the main rods as you turn right to start St Marthas. Also the signs at Ewhurst cross roads were confusing (there were other yellow arrows) - several riders turned left towards Forest Green.
You might want to consider an earlier start - say rolling from 0700 or 0730 - just to get ahead of the traffic on the small roads.
Wet!
Love this race! It's hard but worth the effort!
Great marshals and all the riders are heinous cycling enthusiasts who encourage you up the nine hills!!!
I would prefer to ride it anti clockwise than clock wise to avoid the dangerous right hand turns at T junctions at the end of a downhill section
Brilliant, tough we'll run event for a great cause.
Having same direction signs as another sportive on same day meant we did Leith Hill twice. Could each event in that area agree their own colour code? Great event though. Thanks.
Good fun
Long start and long hills
Could've planned for staggered starts based on expected speeds. We were waiting for aaaages in the rain
Great event, great scenery, a couple of horrible hills.
Super soggy but awesome
Some of the roads are technical in nature especially with adverse weather - it's not a pure beginner event. Participants definitely need a base level of fitness with hills.
Title says it all.
Great challenge for the seasoned rider and great to have the shorter option.
Unfortunately very wet but that's nobody's fault. We also took a wrong turn on the long route after hill 3 and started on the same loop again so decided to come back to box hill. We are not sure how ?
Well done organisers - in the wet to give up their time on a Saturday morning is a good effort and help making this the very good event it is.
Classic course with a bit of everything
Well done on organisation and support. Epic conditions this year!
Nice hills, shame about the rain !!!
Thanks to all at ful on tri - brilliantly organised.
