We have been informed that the most direct route via the tunnel between Race HQ and the start/finish area has been flooded. This is a long stretch of approximately 50m, currently at ankle depth. The flooding is being fed by groundwater so, inspite of some warmer weather which we hoped would dry it out, it is unlikely to disappear before race day. We have therefore made some contingency arrangements to help you on race day.
Details of these arrangements will be included in your final race comms which will be sent out on the Friday afternoon, before race day.

The Tissington Trail, the site of a former railway line from Ashbourne to Buxton, runs along a 13 mile route from Parsley Hay to Ashbourne in Derbyshire. Surrounded by beautiful countryside the traffic-free trail is ideal for a cracking marathon and, because the route is slightly downhill on the way back, you've got gravity on your side! The race is suitable for both experienced and first-time marathon runners.
The Tissington Trail, the site of a former railway line from Ashbourne to Buxton, runs along a 13 mile route from Parsley Hay to Ashbourne in Derbyshire. Course Details:
The route gently climbs up through glorious Peak District scenery before turning around with a 13.1 mile downhill finish – so fast times are likely. The race is an out and back from Ashbourne to Parsley Hay along the traffic-free Tissington Trail. The route gently climbs uphill towards Parsley Hay before heading slightly downhill and all the way back; its a great cours for runners of all abilities and a fantastic introduction to the marathon distance for runners of all abilities.
Although the route is traffic-free, the trail will still be open to other trail users, including cyclists, walkers and horse-riders.

By Car:
There is plenty of car parking in Ashbourne Town Centre and there is also a small car park at the Leisure Centre – please remember to pay the appropriate charge. Please also remember to follow directions to Ashbourne Leisure Centre for Race HQ (not the race start).
By Bus:
There are bus services available from Derby to Ashbourne Leisure Centre.
