All the 2016 Midweek Aquathlons will all take place on a Tuesday evening dates below.
Yes you can enter on the night just get there by 6.30pm.
We hope to be starting all the races from the new boat house for 2016. It’s to the right of the grass area. I will post a new site plan and run route on the web site over the next few weeks.
An Aquathlon consists of a continuous two stage race, involving swimming followed by running.
Sorry but you will need to have done open water swimming before you can take part in this race. You will also need to wear a bright swimming cap.
If you feel unwell before the event pleas don’t race.
Due to safety issues all 2016 races will be wet suit swims only. If the water goes over 23 degrees we will cancel the event. In 2015 the water did not go over 23 degrees.
The race is also limited to 60 swimmers. We will have 1 boat for every 20 swimmers.
If you get into difficulty during the swim roll on to your back and raise one arm. Someone will come to your aid.
The one lap open water 750m swim takes place in the south lake followed by a three lap 6km run around the lakes. We have kept it to this distance so you can fit it into your midweek training schedule.
Please take care when you exit the lake as the ground will be wet and slippery.
Registration will open at 6:30pm with the race starting at 7:30pm.
Car parking is in the Beacon Pub is free and a short stroll to registration and the start. If you get chance pop into the pub and have a drink before you go home
