The Burnham Beeches 10k offers a unique opportunity to run on a mix of closed roads and hard-surfaced paths through the cool shade of the Burnham Beeches ancient woodland in South Bucks. It’s the perfect setting for a summer half marathon. This year is the 40th anniversary of the event and so the course will be run in reverse offering a new twist to this very popular race.
The first 500 entrants will receive a VIP parking pass which will allow them to park close to the race village and the first 1000 entrants will have their names printed on the back of the event T-Shirt. Early-bird pricing is available until early April so don't delay, enter today!
Runners must be at least 17 years old on the day of the race to enter the Half Marathon (16 years old for the 10k). The races are unsuitable for wheelchairs and no runners may be accompanied by a cyclist, pushchair or dog. The usual EA race rules apply and runners are only allowed to wear approved (bone conducting) headphones while running. There will be a cut-off time of 3 hours for the Half Marathon after which time any runner still on the course will be advised that they continue on their own at their own risk.
You can enjoy a well earned dip after the race with special access to the Caldicott School swimming pool (access may be restricted depending on demand). Please shower before using the pool.
There will be water on the course from paper cups and in the race village there will be water taps available. We are trying to reduce our use of plastic so we ask that as many people as possible please bring their own reusable water bottles or wear a hydration vest.
Families and supporters are welcome at the start and finish in the school grounds but note there are no dogs allowed at the school. As in previous races we aim to create a big race atmosphere in the Race Village.
A pre race email will be sent to entrants a week or so before the event. Please note that headphones (other than bone conducting ones) are strictly not allowed as although roads are closed we can not guarantee the route will be traffic free and it is important you can hear traffic plus marshal instructions.
We hope to have hot food available to buy in the race village, provided by our friends at The Crown pub. There is no alcohol allowed in the school field but the pub is on Crown Lane a short walk away from the finish.
Keep an eye on our Facebook page for latest information.
