The brand new race on the 2019 Rural Running Calendar is aimed at those of you that want a long training run for your Spring marathons, be it London, Southampton, Brighton or any other. The race is run on closed roads around the beautiful countryside of the Meon Valley, to the North of the village of Wickham, famous for its annual Horse Fair. The course consists of 3 laps.
The race, run around an accurately measured 20 mile course, will have a UK Athletics Licence and will be chip timed. Due to local conditions, we have had to place a time limit on this race. This measn that ALL entrants will need to have commenced their 3rd and final lap, by 12.30pm. In effect this means you will need to be at 3hr 30mins pace for a near half marathon (20km).
There is limited FREE parking at the Wickham Centre, and in the car park alongside the Meon Valley Trail and pay & display parking in the village square.
Facilities for entrants include toilets, bag store, tea & coffee.
Race Numbers will be posted out to ALL entrants during the week commencing 18th March.
Trophies for 1st place in both the male and female categories, with lots of spot prizes.
