Title: Great experience for a first time racer

Hi Jeff, all your Marshalls and organisers!

I just wanted to pass on a huge thank you for making my (first) Bling run such a pleasure (along with Rachael Hughes  who used her Inner Katherine Jones [our Running club leader] to coach and encourage me along the course when my legs were burning and the spirit was just spotting the coming hill)!

There was MUD, there were oceans pretending to be puddles, there were unending hills... and there were lovely downhill bits... I liked the downhill bits so much!! But given all that I enjoyed it and, not just because against the odds and elements I managed to creep in 3 minutes under my target, but also because it went so well from my viewpoint, no problems, everything at my end went so easily!

You were all spectacularly encouraging, the high fives, the smiles, the laughter, the advice, the cheer... every bit was a drop in an emptying tank! Thank you. It was a first for me and my medal has taken a pride of place in my bedroom... there may be other races but there will never be another first for me! Thank you for making the booking process (I managed to ring you on holiday!!) so easy even when it hiccupped!

Great experience, I enjoyed it... and eventually the mud will come out of my orthotics and my runners will dry out (actually they got a good clean when dried and look as good as new so my trainers thank you too!!)

A huge manhug and a massive thank you to you and your team.

Yours

Bob Pitman

Title: Lovely, happy, encouraging marshals. Enjoyed the challenging course
Make sure you get to the car park at 8 to 8.30! On the whole I was taken round the course without any problems by the marshals who were great. The only confusion part was when I came back to the finish and was asked if I had been right and to go left then the second time quickly directed left as I had already gone right. One of the lady runners I caught up asked me how far I had gone...she had been directed too soon left and hadnt gone right turn at the finish loop! Not sure how you can sign post this. Even so I really enjoyed it. Thank you

Title: Prepare to get muddy
Make sure you arrive early as car park was jam-packed  Literally no space at all. Race was good though  Very hilly but well organised, plenty of marshalls.
Shame couldn't find the results.

Title: Hard work
The first mile was ok with a little bit of mud. Then the hills came and they were hard work. The mud just kept getting worse and it was up to my shins. It was a very challenging run but enjoyable. Rural running who organised it were fantastic and very friendly.

Title: My pace
I started of slow as it was busy around me and too slippery and muddy to run a fast pace. Got passed a muddy section then a big hill a struggle but managed to get up there and all through the race a challenge of mud and  puddles slippery and up and down hills. Really great race. Marshals all cheerful helping you on your way letting you know whats next on route. Then jelly babies handed out telling you only one more hill to go to finish and a steep long one too. Loved it and a great medal. Really enjoyable run. Went home looking forward to seeing the results as i dont wear a watch to time myself. But unfortunately i was missing from the results so dissapointed. My husband looked through the finish photos at the runner in front and behind me and took their times averaged my time between that so a rough idea better than none. An enjoyable event

Title: Spitfire ladies
My first rural running event .. loved it . Ran with 4 other Itchen Spitfires running club ladies and despite the mud and hills we had a great time. Well organised, lovely marshalls, good support and great race bling .. Thank you Jeff and team. Will look forward to the next one

Title: Challenging 10k
I ran the Hundred acres 10k yesterday. It was well organised and had everything you needed, toilets, somewhere to buy a drink and snack. The Marshall’s were great and pre race info was clear. The course itself was very, very muddy, but fun. There were some challenging hills in this race. I ran the Winchester 10k  last month and found this harder. I think I found it harder as the hills were steeper. The medal was nice and you got a cereal biscuit and water at the end. Good race.

Title: Muddy but fun!
Was never going to be PB run so went with the attitude of enjoying what the course threw at me... mud and a lot of it. Left the new trainers at home and felt sorry for those who didn't.
Organisation was ok, managed a late entry from the reserve list and communication was great.
Arrived early and parked ok but saw others having problems. Likewise the toilets were oversubscribed. This should be addressed for future events.
No mile or Km markers but ran by the watch.
Nice medal for the collection.
All in all a good morning and would do another event.

Title: Muddy 10k
I thought the set up was great. I really enjoyed it, but it was far more muddy than I thought it would be. It was great running in the trees. Would defo do this again. My husband is going to join me next year if this event is on again

thanks

Title: Such muddy fun
What a fantastic half marathon. For years my wife has dragged me up to hundred acres for walks and the chance to run a half was something I had to do .
I went into this purley for fun as I' leave Pb's for non muddy events . And what a lot of fun we had  3 of us from baffins fitclub decided to run together and enjoy the mud and fun we had splashing about in the muddy puddles supporting each other . Very scenic and challenging especially with some of the muddy hills but we enjoyed every second of it . Cant wait to do this one again next year   loved the medal . It was well organised and although our group of 3 was alone and we couldn' see any other runners we had no issue with getting lost as the marshalls werw fantastic . Especially the jelly baby lady screaming at us to run up the hill !! Well done rural running on another excellent event
RICH .

Title: Best organised races for Plodders to Power Sprinters in the South!

Absolutely love the races that Jeff organises. The 'no pressure' attitude to individual abilities is mad paramount, and subsequently those (like me), who are not 'natural' runners thoroughly enjoy the organisation and atmosphere, and keep returning. The thing I love too is because of Jeff and his team, these are the friendliest races around. I tend to go along by myself, and always the runners and marshalls are so encouraging, and make the pain 'fun' (!!), and the elite runners are focussed on encouraging us plodders!
To organise these, with no great personal gain, just the love of getting people out and active - is amazing. Thank you!
