How will the Race be timed?

The main races will be Chip to Chip timed.

Question 2

Is there parking?

Parking for the event will be on the Playing Field at the Village Hall.

Are there Toilet facilities?

There will be ample toilets on site, with limited changing facilities.

Question 4

Can I run with my Dog  ?

Accepted Answer

No, for safety reasons, no animals are allowed on the course.

Race discipline

The route runs on public roads. Keep to the left of the road, pavement or path during the race. Take care when overtaking and make way for faster runners. If you need to stop or walk for any reason, please move to the side of the course, so as not to impede other runners. Instructions issued by the Race Marshals, who will be wearing fluorescent yellow bibs, MUST be obeyed. They will advise you of any hazards. In line with UK race rules, the organisers prohibit the use of headphones during the race, as these may prevent you from hearing instructions from Marshals. Any runner not complying with these rules is liable to disqualification. The Race Director’s decision is final at all times. This advice is for your own safety and that of other road users. Without your co-operation it is not possible to hold a race on public roads.

Question 6

How will I get my race number?

All race numbers will be available for collection on the day from Race HQ. No numbers will be distributed in advance. Please try and arrive at the race one hour prior to the start to allow time to collect your race number and timing chip. Only the person who has entered the race should collect the race number. It is not permitted to transfer race numbers to another person. This is a condition for entering the race and is extremely important especially in the event of illness or an accident during the event. It may also affect the results and may mean someone getting a prize to which they aren’t entitled. Pin your race number on the FRONT of your running vest or ‘T’ shirt, where it is most visible for race officials. Runners who do not have a properly displayed number will be liable to disqualification. 

Please complete the form on the back of your number with your name, contact details and any medical condition. This will help in the event of an accident or illness.

Question 7

Are transfers allowed?

Only the person who entered the race can run using the race numbers. A Transfer window will be open  until two weeks before the race, you can log onto your race portal to transfer.

Any runner identified as running under the wrong name and number will be liable to disqualification.

Question 8

What are the race rules?

Accepted Answer

The race will be held under the UKA rules.

Question 9

Can I use headphones?

Accepted Answer

As the race is on open roads, no headphones, including bone conductor headphones are allowed.

Question 10

Are there prizes?

Accepted Answer

All competitors will receive a race medal. There will be other awards for the winners of each category
