Welcome to the 2024 Chapel Tri Aquathlon!
This event has a long history and returns in 2024 as a fully registered British Triathlon sanctioned event. We are also hopeful that it will be part of the South Central Junior Triathlon Series which helps athletes gain selection to the Inter Regional Championships (IRCs).
One of our aims is to make the event cost effective for everyone. Triathlon is an expensive sport so we hope that our pricing encourages you to enter. We have deliberatley set out to make the event cost neutral if possible ie what it costs to put on is reflected in the pricing structure without a push for huge profit.
It will follow its usual format with a pool based swim. Transition is immediatly outside of the pool entrance. There is then a short run to the main run lap which is on the playing field at the school. Every part of the event is within 100m of the finish including the car park.
A British Triathlon "Race Pass" is compulsory. British Triathlon members do not need one. If needed, these can be purchased when entering the event.
The event will be fully chip timed and we plan on also counting swim and run laps to avoid mistakes in the results. The onus will still be on the child to count their own laps though.
Event distances are in line with those recomended by British Triathlon.
Final event details will be sent out in the week before the event.
The closing date for entries is midnight 19th May 2024.
We will have a bespoke medal that is unique to this event and will help celebrate the success of finishing.
On site on the day there wil also be refreshments available for vociferous supporters!
Please come and join us and enjoy the spectacle of kids competing in a sport that they love. If you are with a club then encourage more to come and set up a club tent next to the finish line.
