Ciderthon Half Marathon & 5K

Next Race: 07/05/2022

Henley Showground, Culden Faw Estate, Marlow Road, HENLEY-ON-THAMES. RG9 3AP

Run Miles. Drink Cider.

A Half Marathon where you sample different ciders along the way, with tasters along the route and more at the finish line. Set amidst the beautiful Thames Valley.

Ciderthon aims to mix the elation of running with the taste of the ancestral drink, celebrating the culture of cider making and the enjoyment of drinking it.
Often the two activities are seen as mutually exclusive events, but after having such a great time at Marathon du Medoc in Bordeaux, I had to bring a piece of the fun to the UK. Join us, and #RunMilesDrinkCider

Nikki
Founder of Ciderthon

With 12 ciders to taste on the Half Marathon, 3 tasting stops on the 5K, and a finisher’s pint for all runners - you’ll be earning every step you take.

Also included with each ticket.

  • A unique finisher’s medal
  • A finisher’s T-shirt
  • Ciderthon neck warmer
  • Collapsible cup

Both races start at Culden Faw Estate in Henley, across an access-only closed road running route. The route will be multi-terrain, and anyone is free to access our Ciderthon Village at the start/finish for bars, music and more!

This is NOT a timed event so participants should not expect to receive a result on completion of their respective category. Extra caution is recommended due to the challenges associated with running whilst consuming alcohol.

Please remember that the main category is a half marathon (13.1 miles) and ensure you prepare for the run properly. You should take your decision to run on the day sensibly. If you have not prepared sufficiently and could not comfortably run 8 miles one month beforehand, you will not manage the half marathon in safety or enjoy it, so please do not attempt to run.

It is unfair to you, your family, and the event staff to risk a medical emergency, even if you are running for charity. The cider which will be provided on the route will make the run enjoyable but will likely be a different type of running which you haven’t previously experienced.

This is a FUN RUN, not a RACE – the aim is to enjoy it and take your time, particularly as the alcohol can make you feel out of breath.

ALL RUNNERS MUST BE 18 OR OVER ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE. All participants will be asked to provide an acceptable form of Identification on arrival to confirm their age (Driving License, Passport). Participants who are unable to provide ID when requested will not be permitted to participate and no refunds will be offered to anyone refused entry for this reason.

Entry on the day will be available for the 5K only. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

All of our events are organised following government and governing body COVID-19 guidance. We will continue to ensure that we deliver safe and enjoyable events.

For event updates and future promotions, follow the Ciderthon on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
