RUN THE BEST BITS OF THE CAPITAL  COLLECT THE CLUES  FIND THE FINISH LINE

The summer 2021 edition of City Scramble London is now open for entries!

Put excitement and energy back into your run with a live chase in central London, collecting clues to reveal a secret finish location to grab a medal and a glory photo.

Take the recommended route following our maps to run approximately 5K or 10K, or take your own scenic route. Once you've unscrambled the finish location, get yourself there and take a selfie for proof.

Both routes take in some of central London's most Instagrammable spots! With a strictly limited number of places allocated to start between 9am-1pm, you can run solo or take it on as a group of running mates.

You'll receive your clues by SMS at 9.00am on the morning of Monday 30 August. Your circular route will have 8 clue spots, followed by a final finish location. At the finish line, you'll be greeted by our rewards team who will award your medal, give you water and get your solo or group glory shots with our special victory backdrop.

Everyone must finish by 1.00pm! Time your run using a watch or mobile app to get your result on the official results page. Submit by 6.00pm on race day and watch out for the full results sent to everyone by email after the deadline.

Share your progress throughout your run using #CityScramble and message City Scramble HQ if you need a hand to be sure of your next move. If you have any questions, check out the details and FAQs here first and if there's anything missing, get in touch.

Tell me more! Answers to all of the Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an organised event with a mass start like typical events from The Race Organiser?

This event has been planned with all public health guidance in mind, but in response to many runners who have been in touch with us to see if there are ways we can help motivate and inspire their running during COVID-19 restrictions.

City Scramble requires all runners to observe all physical distancing rules and health advice whilst participating, with no timed start, finish, or requirement to gather anywhere on run routes. Participant numbers are strictly limited to ensure no noticeable presence of additional runners on the streets nor at the secret finish points.

Where do we run?

With our recommended routes, we’ve determined the shortest and fastest path between the clue spots and the start and finish are set to ensure every runner completes a loop (and so that your secret finish point isn't too far away).

Each route has a set of clue spots that you must connect with your run.

On the streets, routes will be unmarked - without signage or marshals - you should ensure you are able to access your route map throughout your run.

You can take a scenic route going any way you like, as long as you hit all of the clue spots and complete a loop between the start and finish, before reaching the secret finish point.

Routes that do not include all clue spots and the secret finish point will not be eligible for the official results board.

Who can we run with?

Run solo, or with others, please just follow current guidance on social distancing.

When do we start?

You can start any time from 9:00am on the race day but must complete your route before 1.00pm. You can submit your run to the results platform once you've returned home and recovered. Submit any time until 6:00pm on the day.

Details of how to submit your result will be provided in your pre-race email on Friday 17 August.

When do we get the clues?

Clues will be sent by SMS to your phone at 9:00am on race day. You will need a smartphone to view them. The City Scramble team will be available to help if you are struggling to find any of the locations or clues on the day, and details of how you can communicate with us will also be included in your final instructions email. Each clue will only be solvable by reaching the clue spot.

When do we get the medal?

Medals will be posted out shortly after the event to the address you provide during registration.
