Knaresborough Running Festival – Trail 10k (ish), Half Marathon, 20 Miler, Marathon & Ultra

Please note this event does not start/finish/or register at Mother Shiptons Cave. Clear maps will be sent to everyone with regards to parking, start/finish/registration 7 days prior to the event.

Join us in the heart of Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, for an unforgettable day of trail running through some of the most scenic countryside in the region. The Knaresborough Running Festival offers distances for every runner – choose from a 10k (ish), Half Marathon, 20 Miler, Full Marathon, or Ultra Marathon.

The route is based on a 6.5-mile trail course, with runners completing a set number of laps depending on their chosen distance. Starting from the centre of Knaresborough, the course climbs gently through beautiful parkland and continues along the old railway track between Knaresborough and Harrogate. Expect breathtaking countryside views, historic Yorkshire charm, and a friendly race atmosphere.

Race Information

Location: Mother Shipton Cave, Conyngham Carpark
Parking: Public pay & display car park, just a 2-minute walk from registration
Registration opens: 8:00am (allow at least 1 hour to park, register, and use facilities)
Licensed by: Trail Running Association

• Marathon – 8:30am

• 20 Miler (ish) – 8:30am

• Half Marathon – 9:00am

• 10k (ish) – 10:30am

Important Notes for Runners

• Cup-less event: To reduce waste, please bring your own reusable cup or bottle.

• Headphones: For safety, no large over-ear headphones. Bone-conduction or “one in, one out” in-ear headphones are permitted. Be aware of possible unmanned road crossings.

• Transfers & Deferrals: Manageable online via our website. Please avoid on-the-day changes to reduce delays.

• If you need to retire from the race, notify the nearest marshal.
