Can I book hotels directly through you?

I have registered for the event, what happens now?

You will receive an email from Eventrac confirming your registration and participation in the event.

Question 3

Can I rent a good quality bike and/or wetsuit for the race?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We recommend TeamDoubleJ for their excellent bikes and service. They will help you with everything you need. Regarding wetsuits, you can rent them from us. You can find all the rental information here: https://mallorcatriathlon.com/bike-and-wetsuit-rental.

Can I bring friends and family?

Yes. Friends and family are very welcome. The town is a wonderful place to spend a few days, and with the race on Saturday morning, everyone will enjoy the whole weekend.

Question 5

How far is Colonia Sant Jordi from Palma Airport?

Accepted Answer

We're 35 minutes from Palma Airport. You'll find a taxi rank at the airport exit, or you can pre-book a transfer with us, and we'll pick you up. You can read more information about getting from Palma Airport in our How to Get Here section.

Is the transition area safe?

Accepted Answer

We take safety very seriously and will ensure that volunteers keep the transition area closed and secure from the start until all bikes are removed.

Question 7

Will there be restrooms in the departure area?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we have two restrooms for participants in the expo area.

Question 8

Are wetsuits required?

Accepted Answer

Wetsuits aren't necessary unless the water is particularly cold, but our personal recommendation is to bring them. Most racegoers will be wearing one.

Question 9

Are the roads closed to traffic?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All the roads used on the bike course are closed, so we'll have the best racing conditions.

Question 10

Is drafting allowed?

Accepted Answer

Drafting is permitted during the cycling segment. This means that the use of TIME TRIAL BIKES, TRI BARS, or AERO BARS is NOT permitted, and rims must have at least 12 spokes. Disc brakes are permitted.

Tri-bars cannot extend beyond the front brakes and must form a closed loop at the front. Disc wheels and wheels do not require a minimum of 12 spokes.

What level of triathlete is this race suitable for?

We're a friendly race. The course is fast and flat, making it ideal for both beginners and pros.

Question 12

Can I stay in the area for a few days after the race to train?

Accepted Answer

Colonia Sant Jordi is the perfect place for triathlon training. You can swim in the BEST Centre 's outdoor Olympic-sized pool or in the crystal-clear waters of the surrounding beaches, explore the rolling terrain and hills of Sant Salvador and Randa by bike, or run along the forest trails behind the beaches. Just let us know what you need, and we'll organize it for you.

Is the race really founded by Olympic athletes?

Yes. Matthew and James, who founded the BEST Centre in 2009, are the organizers of this event. Olympic cyclist Joan C. Tomás also has his bike rental shop, www.teamdoublej.com, just around the corner, so you'll always be in good hands. Colònia de Sant Jordi is becoming a mini Olympic Village!
