CANCELLED FOR 2020

MARATHON RELAY / WIRRAL

Sunday 11th October 2020

BTR is pleased to announce a new event to the race portfolio... the Marathon Relay.

The concept is structured to encourage team participation with each of four team members running a distance of 6.55 miles delivering an overall distance of 26.2 miles.

The format will follow a traditional relay style with each runner completing one lap and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th team members cannot start their lap until the previous runner crosses the finish line on their lap.

Each of the four lap times will be added together to create an overall team time and the fastest team wins.

Three categories.

There will be three categories for team entrants - a) all male b) all female and c) mixed gender with at least one male or one female in the team.

There will be an annual trophy to be won in each category.

The course.

The 6.55 mile route will be along the waterfront at Hoylake which will potentially allow for fast times starting in front of the Hoylake Lifeboat station. It will run as far along the promenade as Moreton and return on the adjacent pathway for part of the return to the finish line, see map.

The start / finish area.

The start and finish area will be on the promenade at Hoylake but the event set up will be in the Hoylake Community Centre where entry collection and baggage will be hosted. there will also be toilets and tea / coffee facilities here.
