Your guidance ensures that participants have a smooth and safe journey towards the stadium finish.

    Role Overview

    As a Here to Help Volunteer, you’ll be the go-to person for runners, spectators, and visitors around Stadium MK on race day.

    Your role is all about providing a warm welcome, answering questions, and helping people find their way to key locations such as:

    • Registration

    • Toilets

    • Baggage drop

    • Start/finish areas

    • Spectator zones

    • Water points and general amenities

    You will be walking around the Stadium MK area, holding a “Here to Help” sign, making yourself visible and approachable throughout your shift.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Give information and directions to runners and spectators.

    • Help runners find their correct locations (start pens, baggage, toilets, etc.).

    • Walk around the stadium area with a visible “Here to Help” sign.

    • Answer general questions and provide reassurance to those who need support.

    • Maintain a friendly, approachable, and positive presence at all times.

    • Communicate any issues or concerns to the Event Crew or Coordinator.

    What to Expect

    • Lots of walking and standing throughout your shift.

    • Continuous interaction with runners and the public.

    • Dress appropriately.

    • Smiling, chatting, and helping hundreds of excited runners!

    • Clear instructions and support from your Team Leader throughout the day.

    As a Rapid Response Crew Volunteer, you will be part of a flexible, fast-moving support team responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of the marathon on race day.

    Your main duties include:

    • Collecting any unopened water packs from the water stops (please do not collect opened packs, as they cannot be returned).

    • Reacting to emergencies or urgent needs along the course, which may include delivering water, signs, bin bags, or other essential items.

    • Supporting race operations by providing rapid assistance wherever it’s needed.

    This role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy being mobile, responsive, and part of a behind-the-scenes team that ensures the marathon runs safely and efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collect unopened water packs from designated water stops.

    • Respond quickly to any ad-hoc requests from the race team.

    • Deliver water, signs, bin bags, or other equipment to where it is needed.

    Your main duties include:

    • Collecting litter along the route.

    • Removing route signage as you go.

    • Reporting any issues or incidents back to the event team.

    This is a great role for someone who is responsible, detail-oriented, and enjoys being part of a major community event.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Follow the final runners along the marathon course in a designated buggy.

    • Collect litter and dispose of it in appropriate areas.

    • Take down route signage and other temporary race markers.

    • Report any hazards, incidents, or issues to Race HQ or event staff.

    • Attend the pre-race briefing and collect the buggy keys before starting.

    This role is perfect for friendly, responsible volunteers who enjoy working with children and want to help create a positive, memorable experience for families.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with sorting and distributing race numbers to young participants.

    • Help brief children and parents before the run begins.

    • Offer encouragement, reassurance, and guidance to families.

    • Marshal sections of the course to help keep children safe during the run.

    • Support the safe, organised reunion of children with their parents after the finish.
