Question 1

Can I run with my dog?

No. We do not currently allow dogs to participate in our events.

Question 2

I don't know how far I am going to run; what can I do?

Accepted Answer

Nothing. You can decide on the day the distance you want to run. When you have finished running your last lap just let the race HQ know so your time and distance can be recorded.

Question 3

Can I transfer to a different event?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You may transfer yourself to a different event or transfer your entry to another runner up to 7 days before the orginal event, for a nominal fee plus any difference in entry fee. You can do this through your Eventrac booking. If transfering to another runner you will need to arrange transfer of funds between yourselves. See terms and conditions for more information.

Are spectators allowed on the course?

Yes. Please do have spectators to cheer you along.

Question 5

What is provided at the aid station?

Accepted Answer

All aid stations will have water, a selection of drinks and some sweet and savoury snacks. Our aid station is nut free. Please note we do not provide plastic cups; bring your own.

Question 6

Is there a bag drop?

Yes. There will be somewhere to leave your own bags and provisions.

What is the cut off time?

Our events are 7 hour timed events from the earliest start time. See individual event page for start and cut off times.

Question 8

Will I receive a medal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Everyone who completes 5K or more will receive a medal.

Question 9

What time can I start running?

Accepted Answer

Our 7 hour timed events have flexible start times which offer a one and a half hour time window. Just turn up within this time, register and start running / walking. See individual events for start timing details. If you have individual needs for start times then do contact us; we will try our best to accommodate you.

Question 10

Can I walk at your events?

Accepted Answer

Yes you can. All of our events welcome walkers, hikers and runners. Or mix it up and do a bit of all three!

Question 11

Do your events 'count' for 100 Marathon Club and 100 Half Marathon Club purposes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All of our events will 'count' towards your 100MC and 100HMC goal as long as you complete the required distances. Our Southbourne events count as 'road' for 100MC purposes as the route on Southbourne Prom has been measured by AUKCM. All other routes will count as 'trail'.

Can my child run at your events?

We are family friendly and organsie events which are open to under 18s; parents or guardians can enter their children for these events (Jingle Bell Run, Starburster).

Our online entry system however is set not to accept entries for any runners under 18 years at our other events. For any runners under 18, the parent or guardian should contact us at info@longplayerrunning.co.uk and we will advise on how to enter.

Please note - all children in full time education are classed as 'affiliated runners'.

Please also note - there are specific rules for how far under 20s can run - please see individual event pages and / or our terms and conditions and contact us if you have any further questions.

Do you do group discounts?

If you have a group of people wanting to enter an event then do email us to discuss discounts for group bookings.

Question 14

Are there age restrictions for your events?

Accepted Answer

All of our events are run with TRA licenses and UKA rules.

Maximum distances permitted under this rule are as follows:

Age under 12 years. 3,000m
Age 12-13 years. 5,000m

Age 14-15 years. 6,000m

Age 16 10,000m

Age 17 25,000m

Age 18-19 45,000m

Age 20 and over. No maximum distance

When do I receive the event information pack?

Information packs are emailed out in the week before an event. Please check your junk / spam as it may end up there! Do email us if you do not receive your pack so we can resend directly.

Question 16

Can I wear headphones at your events?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can wear bone conducting headphones at our events.

As we run under England Athletics and UK Athletics rules and licenses; 'in-ear' and 'over-ear' headphones are not allowed.
