Very challenging but that's the nature of the event!
EPIC
No question about it, the R86 is an epic race, brilliantly organised by Tim and the crew.
Having ran it 4 times now and volunteered twice I can honestly say this is my favourite race.
Hardest bust most satisfying challenge yet
First time taking part in an event of this distance, it was tough but the support along the way was amazing.
Faster runners helping to motivation with words of good wishes and well done, check point crews couldn't have been nicer, happier or more enjoyable to spend a few minutes chatting too, atmosphere on the route was overall amazing. The finish line was manned with cheering spectators and the crew at the town hall couldn't have been better. What an amazing experience.
The best event ever
999 out of 100 - amazing event - organised by fantastic people - amount of support via FB or email is second to none - value for money cannot be beaten - no wonder people are coming back again and again and again!!!!
Don't think about it - JUST DO IT!!!!
I loved it. Tim was amazing, he never seemed to mind answering any questions you had. The checkpoints were so friendly
Would it be possible for it to have UMTB points
Brilliant event
great organisation, good value, beautiful scenery, good friendly vibe, amazing feed stations, good medal/t-shirt
Very well organised, very well supported, great atmosphere.
Very well organised race in a beautiful place
It would have helped to have a few arrows in some places (on the way to and when leaving Goring for example.
Beautifully organised, low key, friendly ultra
What a superb race. Don’t under estimate it, it’s tougher than you might expect. However, it’s still a great run for someone wanting to do their first longer ultra as well as more experienced runners too. The thing that impressed me the most is the care and attention the Race Director and his team give to this race - they really care that people enjoy it and runner safety is paramount. I would highly recommend this race, the route is beautiful, the logistics outstanding.
Beautiful but brutal run - it was very, very hot!
If it was not for the stunning scenery and other runners I would not have finished.
Very well organised.
Fantastic event along the oldest tracks in Britain
Fantastic event and amazing volunteers
All of the marshalls, organisers and volunteers throughout the course were brilliant, super friendly, supportive and helpful. The food at the checkpoints was fantastic. The course was tough in the heat but an ultra is meant to be a challenge, and it provided. An awesome day, thank you!
Fantastic, really challenging event
This is a really friendly event but not suitable for beginners due to the length. this year was made particularly difficult due to the excessive heat.
Thank you
Thank you so so much to all for the checkpoint stations and the Marshall and your incredible support. I was a mess by the last 20 miles and you all supported me and gave me the energy to carry on. You'd all been through this stage before so could tell me truthfully that we could complete it.
Thank you!!!
The usual smooth organistion in spite of the heat.
Wonderful fun & friendly race
Amazing course. Tougher than the +/- suggests. I’ve only been running ultras for a few years but I suspect that the atmosphere, expectation tha you can moderately self-reliant and informality is how they all used to feel before ultras became big business
Not really a beginners race. Good race for those whose have probably done at least a 50k.
Could do with a portloo (or similiar) at each CP. I was suffering with diarrhoea- many trips to the bushes could have been avoided.
Great event
Due to the extreme heat this weekend, a few extra water stations would have been very welcome.
