This is a cycle along quite roads in West Sussex, there is a 50 mile route or a 25 mile route, the two combine for the last 10 miles. Both peddle bikes and electric bikes are welcome.

There are some hills on both, so you and you bike both need to be in reasonable condition. The start point is Sage House, City Fields Way, Tangmere, PO20 2FP, there is ample parking, if you are driving to the start.

This is not a race it’s a cycle around the quieter roads and villages of West Sussex. The roads will be open to normal traffic so please be considerate to other road users. Don’t block the way and let others past.

You are cycling at your own risk. By entering this event you are declaring that you are medically fit to cycle, that your bike is in a road worthy condition and understand that you enter at your own risk. You agree to abide by the organizers instructions which will be emailed to you. Your entry number will be ready for you to collect at the registration desk on the day. You will receive confirmation of entry by email, if your emergency contact details change between entry date and the day of the event, can you please let the organizers know when collecting your number. All personal details will be destroyed after the event.

The organisers are not responsible for any injury or illness incurred to your person or property during or as a result of the event, or for any property lost on the route or in the vicinity of the start. You agree that entry fees and any other charges are non-refundable and that cycle numbers are not transferable.

On the day registration will open at 8.00am on 22nd September 2024, at Sage House. We will then let the 50 mile riders off in batches from approximately 8.15am, last set off time for 50 mile route is 9.15 am. The shorter route cyclists will be set off, in batches, at times up to 10.00am. All cyclists to complete routes by 2.30pm,- so plan you timing and any stops accordingly.

There will be two water stops on the 50 mile route and one on the 25 mile route. The water stops will also have some bars & snacks free to riders. But many of the villages you will pass though do have a small shop or pub where you can get extra supplies if needed.

There will be recovery vehicles in case you have a nonrepairable mechanical failure. If you do abandon the route, please let the organisers know on the day by texting the contact number that will be provided with your entry pack.

The routes will be signed posted and you will receive a downloadable map in both Garmin and GPX format.

The café a Sage House will be open during the event, and all entrants will be offered a complementary hot drink, prior to the start. The restaurant also provides cakes, drinks and meals for those who want some calory replacement after the cycle, or maybe for friends and family while waiting to cheer your return.

If you do suffer an injury or are hurt, you or your companions need to contact the emergency services, if possible please let us know.

There is a medal, for all finishers – to be worn with pride! These will be presented to you as you cross the finishing line.

The Rotary Club of Bognor Hotham are organizing this event with considerable help from Dementia Support, from the team at the specialist dementia hub at Sage House in Tangmere. Any surplus generated by this event will be donated by the Club to them. There is no necessity, but if you would like to raise any sponsorship for them, it would be greatly appreciated by them and those that they assist.
