Can I run with my dog?

Accepted Answer

No, unfortunately we can not allow you to run with your dog, this is due to insurance, permission and  risk factors.

Question 2

Can someone run on the trails with me?

Accepted Answer

No person who is not in the race can run on the course with you, supporters can wave at you as you pass but not run with you or carry anything for you along the course, this is an unfair advantage. This includes for safety or support concerns. If you have safety concerns we suggest buddying up with other runners in areas where you feel unsafe.

What food and drinks are available at Checkpoints?

Accepted Answer

As a minimum we will provide, Water (tap water not bottled), coke, squash, sweets, biscuits, savoury snacks, flapjack, cereal bars, chocolate, fresh fruit, vegan, veggie and GF alternatives.

What food and drink is available at the finish?

Accepted Answer

At the finish we will have FREE tea and coffee plus the same foods as the checkpoints - We always use up the remaining leftover food from checkpoints at the end to reduce waste post event.

Do you have bottled water available at your checkpoints or finish?

Accepted Answer

No, bottled water is expensive and all that plastic is not environmentally friendly. We use tap water filled into 25ltr containers on the checkpoints. These containers are cleaned and rinsed out before events, though if you are not used to drinking tap water from a different area it may taste different to what you are used to but it's perfectly safe and just as wet!

How many laps of the field do we need to run at the start and end of the race and why?

Accepted Answer

We run 2 laps of the field at the start of the race for two reasons. 1). To ensure the distance is correct and 2). to spread people out before getting to the narrower paths on the canal/riverbank. At the end we need you to run around the field again just once for 2 reasons 1). to make the distance right and 2). ensure we have time to prepare your medals and give you a lap of glory!
