White Star Running returns to the Wiltshire Downs for the Larmer Tree races once again… but in the summer! Bringing you a whole new set of races, the Summer Larmer races go over a lot of the ground from the Spring Larmer Tree races, but the change in season makes a massive difference to the landscape. It also means we can offer something for all the family too.

This event weekend includes four epic trail races, plus a new kids’ race and a beer mile for charity. They’re a bit hilly, and all take in the valleys and hills of the Rushmore Estate, with spectacular views across the countryside. 

Alongside the summer races, the team at Rushmore Estate have asked us to provide a Wellness Festival. This will showcase some other outdoor activities, and local providers will be exhibiting skills that will help give you a boost alongside your running.

During the weekend there will be a chance to try a fast-feet warm up with Run Teach, and there will be kids' and adult taster yoga sessions thanks to Om and Me Yoga. Active Therapy will be available to diagnose any niggles or twinges you're experiencing by offering a 15-minute consultation.

Run Fit Fordingbridge will be providing post-race massage, some ladies' run/walk sessions and a stretch class over the weekend. The Jurassic Coast Trust will be co-ordinating a children’s treasure hunt, football activities and fossil discovery, as well as being on hand to talk about Run Jurassic.

Italk, a psychology therapy service, will be on-site to talk about simple ways to maintain your mental fitness. White Star Clothing will be there, along with FLANCI Activewear and Leaping Fish, who produce premium skin balms using all-natural ingredients.

The best bit all these activities are FREE – yes, you heard us, FREE. We want you to come along with your family and camp, take part in a race, maybe two, and get involved in some other activities we’ve got on site.

    These classes are designed simply to stretch out tired, achy muscles and will be slower paced deep stretch classes, where poses are held longer in order to stretch out the muscles and connective tissue, promoting circulation, flexibility and mobility of the joints.

    Beer Mile

    During Summer Larmer the Beer Mile will be making a much anticipated return.

    The idea is to run a mile and have a few beers along the way, raising money for The Jurassic Coast Trust who are attending for the weekend.

    Concept of the race is to run half a mile up to the folly, drink half a pint run back and drink another half pint before finishing. A bit of fun for the adults whilst riasing some funds for a good cause.

    This enables you to pre enter so we have all your details and then come along on the day, pay your £5 when you collect your race number.

    Then enjoy your evening of running and drinking.

    Sunrise yoga at 6am on Sunday morning will be a Vinyasa style of yoga.

    Vinyasa Flow is a flowing, dynamic form of yoga where poses are linked together using the breath. Poses are seldom held for long periods of time but are faster moving which increases cardiovascular fitness, builds strength and enhances the awareness of mind/body connection.

    These classes are NOT ideal for children under the age of 16 or pregnant women or those new to yoga.

    This class is a Yoga sessions for Mixed Abilities.

    A mixed ability class follows a Hatha yoga style. This class is designed to accommodate all abilities and is suitable for all ages. Although there will be transitions from one pose to the next, poses are typically practiced more slowly and with more static posture holds than a Vinyasa flow class. Because it’s done more slowly and poses are held for longer, Hatha yoga allows for more stretching.

    Take a Mindful walk around the amazing Larmer Tree Gardens.  The route will take approx 30 mins and it's a time to take in the surroundings, atmosphere and your chance to relax.  The walk will be led by Sam our Yoga instructor for the weekend.
