Thames Ring 250

Next Race: 23/04/2025

Morrell Rooms, Church Lane, Streatley, Reading, RG8 9JA

Iconic 250 mile race, a 250+ mile loop from Goring along the river Thames into London, up the Grand Union Canal and then down the Oxford Canal back to the Thames and to the Finish.

This was the first long distance race of it's kind when it first ran in 2009, a small field of runners taking on a very difficult challenge with a DNF rate of over 55%. You get 100 hours in total to complete the distance with Checkpoints every 25 miles that are well stocked and staffed by a friendly team. Some checkpoints are indoors but most are outdoors with small tents provided for sleeping if you wish to rest, the clock does not stop if you do and there are cutoff times at each CP.

The course record is just under 60 hours.

Tracking and first aid supprt included and optional merchandise like T-Shirts and Hoodies, everyone who finishes gets the heaviest and possibly one of the best medals you will see.
