RACE INFORMATION:

The Thames Towpath Ten  is a 10 mile race mostly along the Thames towpath on Sunday the 7th April 2024. Hosted by West 4 Harriers Running Club.

COURSE INFORMATION:

Our race is a scenic ten mile multi-terrain event held mostly along the Thames Towpath. The route will pass Kew Gardens before joining the towpath near Kew, heading to Chiswick bridge, then back along the towpath towards Richmond Lock and back into Old Deer Park. The course is flat, the terrain varies and is uneven in stretches. Primarily pavement and gravel with mud in places and limited lengths of the towpath. Normal road or trail shoes will be ideal. The towpath is narrow in places, therefore unsuitable for wheelchairs and baby buggies.

Each mile point will be marked. In the event of unexpected maintenance or flooding on the route, well-marked short diversions may be introduced.

We wil provide a water station along the route and at the start/finish. We would like to go cup free, so if you can bring your own soft cup that would be great!

Runners will need to keep left at all times since the course will be open to the public who retain right of way.

Registration:

After registering online and making payment, entrants will receive a confirmation email.

• Race entries close at midday 05/04/24.  
• Entries will be accepted on race day. Entry fee on the day will be £30. 
• Race packs can be collected from Up and Running (East Sheen) from the 29th March until midday 6th April. Alternatively race packs can be collected from the race site on the day.
• No refunds will be issued after close of race entries.

Results
The event is being accurately chip timed by Event Chip Timing and live results will be available on the day

Headphones

In the interests of safety, the use of headphones by runners is not permitted. The Race Director reserves the right to disqualify any runner failing to observe this important restriction.

Getting to Thames Towpath 10:

Take the train, tube or bus to Richmond Rail station. Old Deer Park is a 5 minute walk from Richmond Rail station. 

We encourage competitors to travel by public transport if possible. If  you are travelling by car, please car share if possible. Please DO NOT park in Pools in the park car park as this car park is restricted to Pools in the park users only and parking at Pools in the park is prohibited in accordance with our race licence guidelines from Richmond council. Instead, there is plenty of parking available across the road (A316) from the Pools in the park. From the M25, follow the M3 towards London which becomes the A316. Before you get to Richmond, the parking facility is on your right. From London, follow the A316 to Richmond. Stay on the A316 until you have passed the Richmond Roundabout and the parking is on your left.
