Get ready to take on the stunning landscapes of Dartmoor in The Dartmoor Marathon - a road race like no other! Whether you're an experienced marathoner or tackling the distance for the first time, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience.
The marathon starts and finishes in the picturesque market town of Tavistock (the birthplace of Sir Francis Drake) and winds its way through the breathtaking Dartmoor National Park.
Expect smooth roads, challenging hills, and spectacular views of rugged terrain as you pass iconic Dartmoor landmarks, including Princetown and the historic Dartmoor Prison. The course also takes you around the tranquil Burrator Reservoir, where the only interruptions may be curious Dartmoor ponies!

Complimentary entries to the 2026 Dartmoor Marathon are available for athletes who achieve the following qualifying times:
Men: 2:20:00
Women: 2:48:00
Please note, these times must be achieved after January 1, 2024, and meeting the standard does not guarantee entry. Spots are limited and awarded at the organisers’ discretion.
