Headphones

UKA & ARC rules prohibit the use of headphones with the exception of bone conductive headphones. you must not in anyway interfere with you ability to hear both other road users and or instructions from staff at the event.

You will be removed from the event, resulst a d any future events if you are caught wearing anything prohibited by either of the governing bodies.

Baggage Drop

It is possible to leave a small bag at the HQ for the event, this must be no bigger than a shoe box sized bag, ask registration team on the day.

Question 4

Race Numbers

At registration you will receive your Race Number.
If you have any special medical conditions which might require attention, please mark a red cross in the top right corner on the front of your race number.
Your race number must be securely fastened with safety pins on all four corners and be clearly visible at all times.
You will not be allowed into the runners only areas or to start unless you are wearing your number and carrying the required kit.
At the finish, positions and times will not be given to numberless runners and they will not be permitted to cross the finish line.
Numbers must be worn as issued and NOT be cut, folded, otherwise concealed or mutilated in any way, any of these and you won't be getting a finish time.
There does seem to be some confusion over this last point, we did think it was simple - if you alter the race number in any way or your number is not clearly visible at ALL times, we will understand that you no longer want to be a part of the event.

Question 5

How can I check race results

Race results will be published live during the event and uploaded to our site after the race ends, on our website under the 'Event Results'. On the day results will be available from the Race Results centre - located near the Finish Line. We may even email the result to you but we can't promise this! It is your responsibility to visit the website if you want them in a hurry!

Can under 18-year olds enter your events

We are sorry but due to Child Protection and Insurance restrictions, we do not currently allow any under 18s to enter this event.
But keep in touch or drop us an email as this might be changing.

Question 7

Photography

Accepted Answer

We will have our event photographers popping up along the route taking pictures of you all. The event photographs will be available on our Facebook page shortly after the event, and on our online portfolio. All our photos are free to download and use.

Question 8

Can I have a Deferral, Transfer or Refund?

We are sorry if the below may come across a bit harsh but due to blatent abuse of our rather relaxed policies we have had to toughen up!

1. Deferral Policy:
Participants can defer their entry to the following year's event or a similar event organised by RunAble if they are unable to participate on the event day.

The deferral request must be made at least 28 days before the event day.

A deferral fee will will charged, and the participant must pay the difference in entry fee if the entry fee for the future event is higher.

Deferral fee £10.00 as of 20/04/2023

Transfer Policy:
Participants can transfer their entry to another person for a fee, £7.00 / transfer / person.

The transfer request must be made at least 14 days before the event day.

The new participant must complete the registration process and agree to the terms and conditions of the event and participant must pay the difference in entry fee if the entry fee for the event is higher that the initial entry fee.

Refund Policy:
(a) Full Refund: If a participant requests a refund at least 40 days before the event day, a full refund will be provided, minus any transaction fees. No refunds will be provided after this period.
(b) Partial Refund: If a participant requests a refund between 21 - 40 days before the event day, a 30% refund will be provided, minus any transaction fees.
(c) No Refund: No refunds will be provided for requests made within 14 days of the event day or on the event day itself.

Admin / Deferral Fees:
We will send a Zettle online payment link to the mobile number associated with your entry, nothing will be actioned until paid.

Memento - Medal - Shirt

Do we get a memento for completing The Descent?

Yes, you will recieve a medal at the finish of The Descent.

YOU WILL NOT RECIEVE A T-SHIRT UNLESS YOU HAVE PREORDERED ONE.
