The heat does get bad this time of year. Particularly as runners are so local, it would be good to start earlier (esp the 21k and 10k).

Loved the marshals encouragement and the chap announcing our names out as we approached the finish line, a nice touch!
More time for the 10k warm up & extra loo's needed.

I’ve run this race a few times and each year it gets better. 2024 was the best yet. Great organisation from beginning to end. Easy parking, plenty of toilets (although you can never have too many), good PA, clearly marked course and lots of marshalls to ensure runners stayed on track.
It’s never going to be a fast course and it has loads of twists and turns, plus some gnarly roots to contend with, but it’s varied and fun, with a great atmosphere.

Great event within the local community

Great for my kids to be able to run the 2km mini Martians race and then wave me off on the adult race. Such a great idea. Flat fast course through all different types of terrain. Good for beginners or for a PB

Loved the course, very varied but not too tricky underfoot. Lots of stewards and a very friendly environment and child friendly. Queues for coffee and toilets were quite long so more facilities would be great

Some of the danger spots could do with white marking ie the water feature, the bridges some of the wooden slats were up. There was a couple of places that could have done with the marshall paying a little more attention towards the end because when you are tired sometime it could do with the marhshall shouting this way.

My daughter and me are semi-regular park runners, this was our first Martian Race.

It was an absolutely brilliant experience. Really well organised, lots of facilities and a really beautiful course over the common and through the woods, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

My daughter said in the car on the way home (oh, car parking, also brilliant, thank you McLaren!) I think this could be the start of a tradition!

Highly recommend joining in! It caters for all runners whatever the pace. The atmosphere in the village is really positive, several stands for refreshments. The Lions also invite runners to donate an item for the local Food Bank. The marshals are wonderfully positive from guiding us through the car park to encouraging every runner when the races are on. The organisation has improved year after year; it is now perfect! Merci beaucoup!
