The Medway Mile 2022 (Gillingham)

Medway Park, Mill Road, Gillingham. Kent ME7 1HF

The Medway Mile returns for 2022 in the new location of Gillingham as part of Medway's Jubilee celebrations.

We’re taking the Medway Mile to different locations across Medway over the next few years to make sure as many local communities as possible can enjoy the fun of one of the biggest community sporting events in Medway.  This year’s event will take place in and around Medway Park on Friday, 22 July.

Medway Mile 2022 will be a sporting celebration of the Queen's Jubilee and her role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Engineers, as well as harnessing the inspiration of the Commonwealth Games taking place in Birmingham this summer.

The event will have all the free family fun you’ve come to expect at the Medway Mile - free sports activities showcasing Commonwealth Games sports, children's races on the Medway Park athletics track, live entertainment and a mass mile.

This year’s new route mass mile route will take in some of Medway's military landmarks, including the impressive tanks of the Royal Engineers Museum.

In a change to the format for the competitive adult race this year, we are linking in with Medway and Maidstone Athletics Club to stage a series of showpiece Mile races on the Medway Park track.

The Medway Mile is being supported by A Better Medway as part of the Medway Can physical activity campaign and by Child-Friendly Medway, sponsors of the children's fun run medals.

We would encourage public transports links to this event
